Just to relay what I said in the previous thread:
There are a few things that will marr this title run for me:
1: Cole overdose, The miz is capable of being an established heel without cole orgasiming at every turn, This alone will sour his run for anyone on the wait and see side.
2: Barrett getting thrown under the bus, I get a strong feeling that he won't be getting the title anytime soon, which is a shame as I think he's a far better heel then the miz.
3:Obvious ending to this: Royal Rumble, boston put two and two together, Infact I would not be surprised if they gave the belt back to randy so they could market Orton Vs Cena mach 792 for PPV after the rumble or WM.

Ehhh... different strokes for different folks I guess.. To me a heel champion needs a big element of danger to him and "bad assness" to him. .. Miz is sort of too clownish for my liking and not credible at this point to be worlds champ Personally, I would have wanted to repackage him slightly better as a little more serious before I gave him the strap
Funny don't draw money as Jim Cornette would say. And yes Miz has been there a while working his way up, but it doesn't mean he's still ready for that spot.

Some guy, clearly an egghead of the highest caliber, remembered a promise I made earlier this year: Now my memory clearly isn't as good as this guy's, but I remember it plain and clear. Thanks to this brainiac in question, I am now officially a MizFit. Now I know how Cena felt after Hell in a Cell...

I can't believe we're onto a second thread. I'll start though. Miz sucks and it's just WWE creative forcing him down our throats. Miz worked his way from the bottom up and deserves to be WWE champion. Is that the gist of both sides of the argument? More or less.... Also apparently Miz Withered one side's crops, poisoned it's wells and ravished thier virgin daughters, while he healed the other side's sick, made thier lame walk, and brought forth numerous loaves and fishes from where once there were only one. YEAH! AND HE TURNED ME INTO A NEWT!

Just got back from work, will address replies from the previous thread.
One could make a solid argument that the first reigns of Orton, Cena, Punk, RVD, JBL, Khali, and even Bret Hart. All of them were over, of course, but not everybody who gets a run with the top title has those career-defining moments prior to it happening. Orton, Cena, JBL and Bret all had their most memorable moments during their time on top, and all of them grew into their roles at the top of the mountain.
I never said it was just about length of time. It's about progression. Improvement. Whether you agree or not, the Miz of 2010 is totally unrecognisable from the Miz of 2004, and somewhere along the line the higher ups have noticed this progression, seen something in him that they felt was worthy of getting behind and pushed him.
Shelton would be the perfect contrasting example. He hit a brick wall in his development, be it lack of charisma or lack of motivation, his progression peaked about five years ago. If he'd been able to kick on from his initital hot spell and maintain fan reactions, and develop some charisma, he could have made it. As it was, no matter how hard he was pushed, the people weren't buying it, and he fell by the wayside.
Ultimately, what is the world champion's job? To make money for the company, keep bringing people into the arenas and get them to watch on TV & PPV, and ultimately do it without making the company look bad. By virtue of people wanting to see him lose that title, and Miz being the second coming of Cena in terms of being the perfect company man, I'll bet that he'll accomplish that goal.
Take the reaction of that little girl. Just try and tell me she won't be tuning in to see Orton get his rematch. Or Cena, should Miz survive long enough for his return.
Factor in all the people bitching and griping across forums and on YouTube and social netoworking sites. I bet you the overwhelming majority will still be watching, no matter how many of them may say they're boycotting until he's out of the picture.
WWE are counting on capitalising on the fans' overall hatred of Miz to get them to pay to see somebody kick his ass and take his title. What's the old saying? "Heel champions sell tickets, face champions sell merchandise"?
Then there's the people like myself, who are pleased he's won the title. I very rarely watch Raw and only occasionally pay for a PPV. I'll damn sure be tuning in while he's got the title, and will keep tuning in when he's in the hunt. And I'm not the only one.
I didn't choose to ignore it, it's simply a non-issue for me. Entirely subjective. Orton and Cena matches bore the everloving s*** out of me, and there's enough people ragging on both of them to know that whoever's on top can't please everyone. Batista needed constant carrying, how many times did he win a world title? How many great matches has 'Taker had the last few years that didn't involve HBK? Or how about Kane?
Sure, Miz is no HBK or Jericho, but he's no Khali either. It'd be great if he was a technical master in the ring, but he's competant, and still improving.
Maybe I'll be wrong. Maybe Miz as a main eventer will bomb horribly. But in the end, love him or loathe him, he's been given the chance to run with it, so let's see where it goes.

Once again, good for Miz. I don't think he'll hold the belt for very long. Hey Miz, if you end up in a triple threat match for the title vs Orton and Barrett at TLC...you might want to leave Alex Riley at home. Just saying.

I'm kinda in the middle on this one. While it's great to see Miz win the big one, it really does feel like he's not done a whole lot recently to establish himself as being a match for the typical main-eventers. I'm really interested to see where they go with this, that itself being a sign of success, just because it really does lead to a whole load of future possibilities.
I'm reminded a little of JBL, although Miz is far less credible in winning the title. The former had a lot of physical presence and could just bully people, play the power game and cheat when that didn't work, while Miz' size puts him at a power disadvantage against most of his likely challengers. I think that Miz has the potential to get himself in a pretty decent position to occupy a position similar to that of JBL as the champion everyone comes to hate as it's impossible to get the belt off him. While I don't endorse Miz getting a reign anything like that of JBL, I think he might well nail down a similar character.

Always looks to be on the verge of losing the title, but somehow managing to pull out a win by hook or by crook when it really matters. Imagine the heat that'd get on this board alone.

Most of my opinon is what Ryan Corven has quoted above.
His wrestling is average, his entertainment factor for me is nil, so he should have stayed in midcard medioricity.
Just like Jeff Jarret, I didn't buy him as a main event champion then or now, the same applies to The Miz.
(Heck they even have the same lame finishing move, sigh.)

MIZ IS AWESOME I accidentally spoiled it for myself when I looked on this board during RAW clicking on the "A-Rie drops the F Bomb" thread and saw the first lines saying "while miz was celebrating" I was like oh f*** the damage is already done but then I marked a little but when it actually happened I jumped round my room like an ass and I dont do that often I did it when Jeff won his first WWE title and CM Punk cashing in his Money in the Bank on Edge, Hell I think I do it everytime MITB is cashed in But i'm a big Miz fan so i'm proud of him congrats and welcome to the era of awesomeness!

Miz should take that WWE logo on the belt, spin it upside down, and attach an "iz" at the end.

Here is what Kevin Nash said about Miz as the champ: - Kevin Nash had the following to say about Miz' shock title win yesterday on RAW: "WWE told the world that there s*** is a work with the Miz as champ" source: www.impactwrestling.com/Content.aspx?ID=34808Right.

Can someone post the pissed off girl again? also post any other fan reactions. There's an entire thread on her. It should still be on the first page. I'm happy that The Miz is champion. And while I won't demand that everyone agrees with me, I wish all the naysayers would calm down. As for the length of the title reign, I just hope it's at least long enough to prevent Triple H coming back and telling everyone that he slept through it all.
