I think he was a decent mid level talent, but unfortunately for him, wasn't really remembered enough to get the nostalgia pop most older guys get.
I kinda liked SD at this point though, they seemed to be trying out lots of people with actual gimmicks, which is more interesting than current SD were literally nothing happens bar Paul Bearer, a very large man, proves really hard to find

It's only rivaled by Road Warrior Animal's run that same year. Still trying to figure out why they got rid of him. At least Road Warrior achieved something in his return. Looking like a middle aged gay biker?

A random run from a mediocre talent in the twilight of his forgettable career. I'm hard on people, but damn, dude. That's harsh.

Tatanka actually got a modern figure of himself before his "classic" style figure. I thought that was pretty funny.

That new theme was horrible, with the hawk sounds The run was decent for a returning veteran.

I remember he got a decent little pop for his return against Eugene because of the randomness of it.
I actually met him twice during this run and the first time he talked with me and my friends for like 15 minutes about wrestling. Real awesome guy

Paul Bearer, a very large man, proves really hard to find Best description of a wrestling plot ever? I think so! I LOVED Tatanka as a kid, so I was way excited (though also perplexed) at his return. For the life of me though I don't remember the heel part of that run.

But he was never booked to win a fake championship, though. I like seeing the old guys make a comeback, especially since so many of the current guys are so bland. No fault of their own, the writers don't give them much of a character except "guy in tights with an attitude problem".

An overweight, rundown wrestler from the past showing up and bitching a lot?
That's a recipe of success.

A couple of friends and I attended a Smackdown/ECW taping in Peoria around this time and we started a "We stole your land" chant, which got a smirk from him. That's the only damn thing I remember out of his run.

I'd like to say I loved his random cameo on old school Raw.

I remember his backstage smoking the peace pipe promo with RVD. I think it's still on WWE.com

I remember the vignettes where he went through rituals and was adopted into the Lakota tribe.
I thought those were well done.

I think it was supposed to be for his impeding return in probably 2007 or something. Anyway, someone mentioned the "no reaction" bit from No Way Out 06. I guess the pops from the DVD were canned.

Tatanka actually got a modern figure of himself before his "classic" style figure. I thought that was pretty funny. Unless you mean they made a regular 2006 version before a WWE Legends figure.
