He did it because he prefers Pepsi and knows that Lawler likes Coca~Cola.... It's worth noting on here that even Punk, a man known for being an ass to even the closest of his friends thought Cole was being an ass to his broadcast partner for many years over fanboyism. Puts into perspective how much of an ass Cole was. Either that or he saw Cena get involved in a match earlier in the night and wanted to be like his best friend.

Cole will probably say that The Miz inspired him with his promos about overcoming an entire locker room's lack of respect for him as well as the IWC because he wasn't 'one of the boys' (much like how Cole gets abuse from everyone), hence his dislike of internet darlings like Daniel Bryan and Kaval.
Could work...

I'm really interested to see how this plays out. Because, realistically, there is absolutely no way around Jerry just beating the crap out of Cole for entirety of the time they remain together. Unless Lawler comes out tomorrow with like 6 title belts and says, "I was so pissed off that Cole cost me the WWE Championship, I had to go out and win 6 Memphis championships last week. That's two more than usual!" As someone who grew up in Memphis, I have to salute you for this.
