Scottish Pro Wrestling begins production on pilot episodes for a Sky TV network and DVD release this weekend. The film will follow several stars of the company at various stages of their career and will also feature some of SPWs traineesin a "Tough Enough" style contest as they compete for a shot at the SPW championship live on tv. The bulk of the film will focus on respected UK wrestler, James Scott, also known as Darkside. Darkside has worked with some of the top talents in world wrestling including Evan Bourne, Austin Aries, Drew McIntyre, Shemus, Dragon Gate star PAC and many more! He is a 15x Champion in various different promotions and currently holds the heavyweight titles for several different companies. He blends a hard hitting Japanese super-junior style with traditional British wrestling mechanics and is considered by many to be one of the best wrestlers in the UK today. The film will focus not only the wrestling aspects of the wrestling industry but what it takes to be at the top. Diets, girlfriends, work outs, road stories et all! Those interested in being involved contact us on scottishprowrestling@hotmail.co.uk. Trainees are also required for the production and those interested can contact SPW or come to training - 12-3 every Saturday at Fighting Fit Gym, Unit 1, Kellwood Road, Cresswell, Dumfries, with head traine 'Darkside' James Scott. Why not add SPW to Facebook? www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=100000794707287 So Yeah I got a deal to film some pilots, my first experience with filming at all and we are using a local production company. Whats your thoughts and ideas on the project?

Sounds good. How often and where do you put on shows? I'd love to come to one if they were nearer my way. I see you've done shows in Moffat & Dumfries, but they're a pain to get to/from on public transport, especially at night.
Edit: In fact, it may be you that does occasional shows in Penicuik. Is it?

We operate solely in the South of Scotland for the moment due to the nothern "territories" being run by other promotion, over the past year we only run quarterly but our schedule will be running monthly events in the coming year. Should be a good year for us!

Congratulations! Shame Darkside is your focus talent, you have better talent on your roster, however he is a great guy in real life.

He is a great guy, very interesting. Myself many other highly respected people in the industry would beg to differ with you regarding James' talents though!

I'm not saying he's bad, he is very fun to watch. I just think there are better people on the UK scene that deserve a look in first (IE Joey Hayes + CJ Banks)... but maybe thats my GPW bias coming through.

Haha, must be, I like Joey and CJ, I dont think they are quite as good as Side is but they are good. CJ and Side had a good match up at BCW a few months back where CJ messed up on a spot and Side planted him with a massive kick! lolness!

Didn't Joey get #1 on the UKFF Top 50 list? Can't remember where Juice and Side were.

Dunno I dont pay attention much to the UKFF, full of super smarks who know s*** and wrestlers with like 7 different accounts trying to get themselves over! lol. Has its uses though.

Didn't Joey get #1 on the UKFF Top 50 list? Can't remember where Juice and Side were. Top five were Stone, Mastiff (Morales), Spud, Ligero, and Zack Sabre Jr. Hayes was 10, Darkside 16 and Banks 17. I dunno about Banks, I've never seen him, but I'd say that the other two could have placed higher.

Ill say right now that Sabre Jr shouldnt be anywhere near that high, but imo hes sooo overrated. Hes a decent wee worker, solid with the technical holds etc but hes not a patch on the other mentioned lads like!

Indeed, Ligero should be above Mastiff also. Stone is a good worker. Golden Spike, get ahold of some Banks media, he is BRILLIANT.

Stone is great, havent talked to him in a while. Any word on how his WWE trials went? Apparently Lionheart, who is a reasonably strong worker, just lacks a physical presence, along with 'Tango' Timm Wylie have been invited to apply for Tough Enough by the WWE. Lionheart has had some good matches over the last year with the likes of Nigel McGuiness and Davey up Richards. He will prob pop on my film somewhere, same with Stoney.
