In two weeks or so, he's gotten to smash a chair onto Cena through a table, gotten to wrestle the Smackdown! champ for the title, and now is in the main event at Vengeance. I realize the guy WAS a great hardcore entertainer, but now it looks like he can barely move. I'll be the first to admit I don't know that much about the guy, but what gives?

He was one of ECW's top guys for years. He is probably the most well known out of all the ECW guys besides, Van Dam, Sandman and Dreamer.

Sabu is the f***ing man. Period. That's why he is getting a push.

I think it's cool. I always liked Sabu, and it's just cool to see someone that isn't obviously Vince's golden boy getting a push.

Sabu looks to (still) be at the top of his game. I can't wait until the inevitable RVD/Sabu match for the title. Hell Sabu vs Angle will rock.

He can still move fine, he's not Terry Funk yet. He's got the most exciting style of the ECW guys, other than RVD. Also he's not a guy who went to WWE and jobbed like Credible and Dreamer, so he seems more legit.
The only other guy who I could see them pushing like this would be Sandman, who wouldn't have really made sense in the ONS2 match with Rey. Though I would love to see him cane Cena some more...

Angle v Sabu v RVD. Triple Threat Match. Bank on it.

Sabu can still fly. He had some hellish matches in TNA, and he still has what it takes.

Maybe 'barely move' was too strong, but like I said, I've only seen a few of his ECW matches.
What are all those whelts on his back from?

He is suicidal, homocidal and genecidal. He got those from barbed wire matches, going through tables; basically, they are ring injuries that just add to his aurora.

The welts are from any number of things: barbed wire, tables, glass, ladders, etc. Notice the scars on his chest from barbed wire and other sharp objects on his chest. It should also be noted that he's getting older, I'd say he's in his mid 40's, and that's one reason why its getting hard and harder for him to do stuff, alongside the injuries.
