the following was posted on PWI.com www.pwinsider.com/elite/ViewArticle.asp?id=18571&p=1As Dave Scherer noted earlier, Paul Heyman wrote last night's ECW script. I was told by several sources that Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon fought with Heyman on several elements of the show and won out. Of course they won out, Zombies, Vampires and Bimbos = Ratings. The Sandman was originally booked to cane an alien last night, but The Sci Fi Network didn't want an alien getting beat up on their network, since, I guess, they thought it would cause an upheaval among their fan base. I guess only Stargate SG-1 can beat up the aliens. So, we got the Zombie instead. I suggested that the Sandman cane the Predator next week. Maybe he should cane the guy in the Green Lantern shirtUnless there is a major change in philosophy, You can expect a LOT more science fiction/supernatural themed elements over the next few weeks as well. Like Vampires and Fortune tellers, Lets brin in the Goonies and have Cindy Lauper make an appearance.Former NWA and ECW star Jack Victory was backstage last night in Trenton, New Jersey. Former ECW star The Blue Meanie responded to JBL's comments about him at the One Night Stand PPV on his My Space, writing, "Thanks for keeping my name out there John! lol And for all of you who STILL ask me if I am going to ECW after I have posted plenty of blogs that I have NOT been contacted......I still haven't been contacted." And after last nites show that may be a good thing.

What I dont get, is Vince saw what Paul could do on SD and the original ECW from a booking standpoint. If I remember right, when Paul was writing, SD had its' biggest ratings. Why not let him run with it?
Answer.....Vince's a luvin egomaniac.

Lets just hope Vince can keep his ego in check. That may be asking for too much but if he wants ECW to succeed, he'll let Heyman do his job. I remember in the ECW dvd Vince had said ECW needed to change if it wanted to succeed...hopefully hes changed his mind since then.

I feel so bad for Heyman. This is his baby. This is his dream, and it's being destroyed.

I feel so bad for Heyman. This is his baby. This is his dream, and it's being destroyed. This is true. Once he found out ECW was coming back, and probably up until the script thing, he probably had really really high hopes. Maybe he still did up until the show started. But I wouldn't be surprised if he cried himself to sleep last night.

I sort of feel bad for him, but he's bound to know that when you're dealing with Vince you're dealing with the devil.

No, just his bank account. He probably made a cool $30 to 40 million last year off of the 2 DVDs, ONS, 24/7 online, 24/7 cable and, RVD's DVD so he looks at ECW and sees $$$$$$$. Until that stops we will get more, whether you like it (and I do) or not.

No he's not bringing it back just bury it. He wants it to do good so that he can make money, but it's gonna take time. He would never put Kurt Angle in ECW if he was just going to bury it, that would be stupid. The reason he's putting WWE guys in ECW is to get the people that wouldn't watch it normally, to turn it on it to see Kurt Angle and The Big Show. That's the only reason Cena was on this week so that Vince could get every 5 year that watches wrestling to watch it.

That would be so terrible. Based on ONS, ONS II, and the upcoming house shows, it should be clear how much ECW means to some people.

I didn't think that it was a bad show last night. It accomplished alot, but we all know how fickle internet fans are......
As for the Zombie, that was very ECW. I enjoyed it thoroughly
