As far as Eevee goes, I always pick Jolteon in FireRed/LeafGreen. It learns Pin Missile AND Double Kick, making it invaluable against the Elite Four. I'm actually playing LeafGreen myself at the moment(along with White). So far, I only have one badge and my team is: Charmer/Charmeleon - lv 20 Stallone/Geodude - lv 17 Cosette/Paras - lv 17 Manx/Mankey lv 17 Sparkles/Pikachu lv 16 I'm imposing a challenge on myself to only use Pokemon that serve a purpose to me at the time. I taught Cosette Bullet Seed, so I have two Mons that can wreck Misty. Until she busts out that damn Starmie. if you haven't done Nugget Bridge and the path to Bill's house yet, that might help with levels. If you have.... hooboy. Pikachu and Paras might want to be around level 20 or 21, and Geodude and Charmander won't do diddlysquat against Misty's team. (oh, if Paras knows Poison Powder, that is a HUGE HELP if it doesn't get KOed first.)

I'm at Bill's house now, but I haven't entered yet. Cosette DOES have Poison Powder, so I'll save her for Starmie.

My current SoulSilver team:
Ampharos - 41 Umbreon - 37 Typhlosion - 39 Dragonair - 38 Espeon - 36 Gyarados - 37
I'm at the Elite 4 right now and somehow managed to get past the first three with that team despite their low levels. My Dragonair is really awful and I hate her. My Ampharos and Umbreon, on the other hand, are awesome, even though Umbreon has a pretty bad moveset.

I taught Cosette Bullet Seed, so I have two Mons that can wreck Misty. Until she busts out that damn Starmie. I went through Starmie in a matter of two hits using Bite with Wartortle (since Starmie is part Psychic). AND I had my Pikachu for backup just in case. So, what do I do with Eevee then? Flareon is a no go. I won't be needing Jolteon since I already have a faster Electric type in Electrode (who also knows Selfdestruct and is going to learn Rollout). Vaporeon, eh, it's a good Water type, but I already have Wartortle/Blastoise who's a great tank, and IF I were to add a 2nd Water type to my team, it would be Tentacruel. Too bad they didn't incorporate the Day/Night feature in FR/LG, otherwise this wouldn't be a problem and I would have instantly settled for Espeon. So I guess it's to the PC Eevee goes.

I ALWAYS find a place in my team for an Eeveelution, even if it makes no sense.
Then again, ever since gen 4 I stopped really caring about having more than one Pokemon of a certain type on my team. I just use the Pokemon I like and work with what I've got. I always have a water type and something that can learn Fly, and MOST of the time a fire type, but other than that anything goes.

Stunky is awesome once it evolves... it gets flamethrower If it were me, I'd honestly switch Murkrow for Staravia. Then evolve Murkrow. Honchkrow eliminates the weakness to fighting (cause of the dark type.) , because of it being half flying, while being undamageable by psychic. Course, it still has the standard bird weaknesses (Ice, electricity, rock) But definitely has, I'd say more perks than Staravia. It honestly depends if you're raising these guys for competitive battling or not. Although, I'd say maybe in place of Stunky if you want to replace him, consider getting an Alakazam. While their defence is weak, they make fantastic special sweepers due to their high speed/Sp. Atk stats. Actually....no, Dark type Pokemon are WEAK to Fighting type Pokemon. There is a reason people want a starter Pokemon lineup of a Fighting type, a Psychic type, and a Dark type. Dark beats Psychic, Psychic beats Fighting, Fighting beats Dark. Naw, what I meant was it eliminates the total weakness to fighting by being part flying

This was discussed in the "10 Disturbing Pokedex Entries" thread, but I'm bringing it here. I'd love a Pokemon game (3D - Console) that lets you actually control the Pokemon you battle with. My ideal set-up would be this:
Analog stick: Move Face buttons: Special attacks L+R triggers: Generic attack (Tackle, Pound, Leer, Growl) Direction Pad: Trainer assist (Up - Items, Down - Switch PKMN, Left - Run, Right - Throw Pokeball)
Hell, you could even choose to be a Pokemon without a trainer. Go around in the wild and just...explore & live. You engage in battles with other Pokemon and even trainers trying to catch you. If you don't want to be caught, a mini-game can stop it. If you fail, you can act as unruly as you want until you either warm up to the trainer or it just releases you. Healing would be as simple as eating a wild berry. You can go solo or run with a pack. Like any pack, you can be booted if you don't come correct.
It would just be an open-world free roaming Pokemon game. They CAN do this. They could do it ages ago, but for some reason, they don't want to "fix" what ain't broken. It would be a nice change of pace. To be honest, I don't doubt that somebody hasn't at least pitched an idea like this.

What I always wanted was an MMORPG type of dealio.
But your idea is awesome too Krimzon, I'd totally buy that.

So, when do you guys think we'll see the remakes of Ruby & Sapphire(you KNOW they are coming), and what do you think their remake names will be?
I'm thinking it'll depend on if we get a Pokemon Grey or not. Nintendo has said they have no plans for a "Grey". So, if we don't get a Grey, I say it'll be within the next two years, if there is a Grey, extend that to the next three years.
As for potential name, I'm thinking it'll be along the lines of Raging Ruby and Soothing Sapphire. Those are the most "manly" ones I can think of. Ruby and Sapphire doesn't give you much options.

And if you're a human, you can choose whether to be a Trainer (which could lead to becoming a Gym Leader, Elite 4, etc.), Nurse/Doctor, Officer, Scientist, Coordinator, or a Team Rocket/Aqua/Magma/Galactic/Plasma Grunt/Leader. They really could do A LOT with the Pokemon Universe.

Just because they COULD do those things, guys, doesn't mean they WILL. Why? Because, to do something like that would require more money than Nintendo is willing to spend.
That, and everyone is buying the JRPG-lite handheld games fine as is. It is the same reason that changes to the games are so slow.
If we want change, we'll have to stop buying the Pokemon games, otherwise, it shows to Nintendo that we just want more of the same.

Maybe, but Nintendo can't afford to take risks. Unlike Sony and Microsoft, they don't have other things to give them revenue. Games is all they have. So they have to play it safe for the most part.

Current SoulSilver team:
Ampharos lv 48 Umbreon lv 39 Espeon lv 42 Typhlosion lv 43 Gyarados lv 39 Dragonair lv 46
Dragonair is still awful. I decided to focus on leveling up Ampharos more than the others just so I'd have somebody reliable. Then I stuck an experience share on Dragonair and went through the Elite 4 several times (I can easily defeat the 4 and Lance's Gyarados, but once he throws out his Dragonite I'm f***ed). I'm trying to get Dragonair to level 55 so it can evolve and maybe not suck as much. Then I need to level up my Gyarados, since it has Ice Fang and may be helpful against Lance.
