Just assume the next two weeks of ECW will be nothing but Vengeance hype, after RVD drops the title to Edge, ECW will center around ECW. It's obvious it's going to happen. It's the price we pay for getting something we want out of McMahon. He's not gonna give it to you without taking something out of it in return to begin.
Remember the brand split... there was a lot of interbrand angles initially, but that was just to tie up loose ends in those storylines and it's just the nature of beast when you have these large stables being presented as promotions. This will all start to fade away as ECW starts establishing who is what now.
It obviously seems like the only way to build an ECW heel among the ECW fans is to have someone blatantly turn on ECW at Vengeance and break that solidified ECW bond the wrestlers are putting forth. ECW is no more than a stable right now, so start laying the seeds for a trust noone environment among the wrestlers.
Get that big shocking heel turn that costs RVD the WWE title. You turn that into your main event feud. That wrestler starts getting his underlings and eventually you have the start of a good heel/face program. Clear cut face, clear cut heel. Make RVD heel but in the ECW way where the heel isn't the guy they hate, it's the guy they don't respect. Make him out to be the guy that sold out the ECW name to get himself ahead in the WWE. Have Paul tell him he's not ECW anymore, that while he was taking a ride to the top...guys like Sabu, Roadkill, Dorring, Anderson, etc. had to tough it up on the independents and continue to the lead the ECW lifestyle. Make RVD try so damn hard to re-earn the locker room's respect, the crowd's respect, that in the process it's him "refinding" what it truely meant to be ECW to sleep in cars, to break bones, etc. Paul can strip him and award it to someone he wants to truely be the "poster boy" of ECW... then have RVD build a feud with him. I personally would find that whole "personal struggle" thing a little more entertaining than overcoming the odds.
I don't know though, I just can't wait to see what the angles start to look like when the master of ANGLES, not storylines, doesn't have to fit his booking into a WWE vs. ECW thing.
So what does everyone else wanna see (Of course, more zombies) when it comes to the actual booking of ECW after the brand war ends
