Awful matches. Predictable booking. ECW being thrown under the bus. Raw was as much fun to watch last night as Nitro was back in 2000. And we know how that turned out.
I had this long rant about last night's show, tearing it apart piece by piece, but the bottom line is, I think I'm gonna take a sabbatical from Raw for a while. It's just no fun anymore, and made me angry as a fan watching it last night. That's not healthy, or entertaining. I'll still watch ECW and Smackdown, but I think last night was my tipping point.
Anyone else feel like this? If not, thanks for letting me get that out.

If ECW can really break away fro RAW and be it's own show, most of my favorite wrestlers are there. So I could probably skip RAW, too. The only reasons I still watched RAW were Edge and the Spirit Squad. And the Spirit Squad has been reduced to Vince McMahon's hitmen (makes perfect sense for male cheerleaders to be Vince's hitmen, too... ) EDIT: Of course, we DO hear this claim alot...

Youv'e found the silver lining in many things that just, to me, didn't have any. I applaud that, but just can't agree with you. A show that has a non-finish, multiple botches in a water baloon fight, and an anti-climatctic ending, it just doesn't do anything for me personally. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I just can't follow you on this.

I think cynicism is not necessarily a bad thing. It keeps people from falling into step and settling for average. I don't want anyone to think my thoughts are pure cynicism. It's just kinda sad what Raw's become. It may get better, but I'm sick to death of always holding out hope that things will, and being more dissapointed than right.

I agree with the thread starter. The Torrie/Candice "match" especially was embarrassing. Just a lot of predictability and really no fun involved. Feels a lot like 1996, except we don't have Austin, Pillman, Foley, Triple H, etc, type young talent ready to explode like '96 had.
I liked the Flair/Foley promo, but I think the pay-off is way too quick. Two week build-up for a match of this magnitude? Save it for Summerslam.
Personally, I've gotten more enjoyment out of watching old tapes. The problem with the WWE runs deeper than a slump. It's the whole organizational philosophy, and it starts at the top with Vince and Stephanie. That's going to hard to change.

The first hour of Raw blew chunks, the 2nd hour is where everything picked up (DX reunion, Foley/Flair promo, Cena killing the ECW guys).

But wouldn't that feud be better if Flair was the heel? I agree, but they've cultivated Foley's heel persona, and it's going to be in Charlotte, so you tell me who should be heel. Plus, as a Foley fan, it was weird watching Mick beg off of fighting Flair because of his injuries from ONS.

But wouldn't that feud be better if Flair was the heel? Flair's at the point now (Well, has been for a while) where making him a heel is just a waste. He's probably the most consistently over wrestler that is still active full time. When his music hits, 90% of the building is saying WOOO over and over and cheering the hell out of him. That and it's in Charlotte, and Foley's already a heel.

Can we get an 'Official I'm Not Watching Anymore' thread. Three or four of these pop up after almost every show and it would just make it alot simpler to lump them all into one thread

I liked the Flair/Foley promo, but I think the pay-off is way too quick. Two week build-up for a match of this magnitude? Save it for Summerslam. AGREED! I marked out like hell and expected them to make a Summerslam match the whole time, but.. Vengeance? This match is a BIG deal. I suppose maybe since Vengeance is Flair's kind of match, Summerslam will be Foley's kind of match. Either way, this is the most exciting thing to me going on in WWE right now not involving ECW. Raw was a mixed bag. I was hoping for more ECW stuff than just some guys getting owned by Cena, but mostly nothing interested me. Meh.

At least it's not "Foley puts over someone else in a feud #9825112"
Foley will likely go over on this one, actually...though Flair could win as well. The outcome isn't 100% obvious like they usually are.
