So I just started up ICO for the first time in a couple of years, and honestly I've gotta say, it still feels revolutionary 10 years later.
There's not a whole lot out there like it. The sense of scope, aloneness, and friendship are just f***ing outstanding and beautiful, and it just plays so well. Sort of like an arty Prince of Persia.
Anyway, random thread, I know, but I f***ing love this game.

I played it for about 10 minutes, didn't get it, and gave up.
I'd love to try it again now that my tastes have matured. If I ever get a PS3, its at the top of my list.
I DID play Shadow of the Colossus though. Fantastic experience.

Oh god yes, Shadow of the Colossus is fantastic. I never was able to beat it, but I'm probably gonna try again soon, because it's too damn awesome to say I haven't beaten it.

Yeah, I never finished it either for some reason. I think I eventually got lost and couldn't find the next colossus.

Hopefully both games will get more love when the HD remakes are released. The Last Guardian has a lot to live up to. It's a shame that it still feels unique as I hoped that more games would tell their stories in a similar way rather than using hours of boring cut scenes.

Ico is without a doubt my favourite game of all time. It's story draws me in and it's gameplay hooked me. Just hauntingly beautiful.

I just can't get into that game. No matter how long I try at it, I just completely lose interest.
Shadow of the Colossus one the other hand, I couldn't get enough of.

It looked good to me. It was largely an artistic version of the series. The world was beautiful, but fairly bare. The game was also really easy (you literally can't die).
