On page 131 there is a listing for the Hillbillies. In the summary Jim, Elmer, Luke and Junior are mentioned but not the hillbilly who is pictured on the bottom right photo with Cousin Luke. He looks a little like Bob Orton with overalls but it's not Bob. Very curious who this character was. He wasn't even mentioned in the summary for Hillbilly Jim by himself, while the other hillbillies are mentioned.
Also, I find it interesting that no mention of Sivi Afi is in the Islanders listing but a photo of Afi with high chief tattoos is pictured.

I was wondering who that Hilbilly was to, and considering Siva only had one maybe two matches with the Islanders that's probaly why it wasn't mentioned

Not an oddity, just a "whoa, hey!" coincidence - I have the same western style shirt that Lance Cade was wearing in the pic for his entry.

That book is full of inconsistencies and errors its unbelievable. They have TL Hopper's picture under the name PJ Walker, they couldn't get the dates right with the Mega Powers(had a victory over The Megabucks at Summerslam 1988, and then tensions arouse in February 1986), and so much more I can't list them all.

Maybe he was a wrestler considered for the group and had photos taken but never made past that point to wrestle.

I just rechecked mine. Hopper's picture is in the right place, but the Mega Powers entry has the same error. I thought it was odd that they left Bill Watts out, considering he worked MSG for them as well as having a brief tenure in the office.

I always thought there were two different guys who played "Cousin Junior", but that might just be my mind playing tricks on me.

If the hillbilly is really tall there is a good chance it could be Trapper John AKA Silo Sam. Vince brought him in for a little while during the 80s but never used him outside of house shows. I figure it was because height wise he would have made Andre look short. He might have been a star if his physique didn't make him look like he was 8 months pregnant. Given his huge gut I also find it funny that literally all of his promo videos show him eating. I guess they thought a healthy appetite went well with the country boy gimmick.
Here is a video of Silo Sam I'm pretty sure its OK since it is from Memphis. If not feel free to delete.
Fun fact: he was also in Pee Wees Big Adventure.

Does anyone notice the absence of Luther Reigns in the book?

The Hillbilly is pictured in the book with Junior and not much taller. He looks most like Bob Orton with curly brown hair and no facial hair. Thanks for finding those videos though.

Funny enough: I think that error was a simple typo (1989 instead of 1986), but even if they had put down 89, that still would have been wrong since tensions between Savage and Hogan actually began in 1988 when they started feuding with the Twin Towers.

Junior was first, but was fired due to drug abuse (storyline reason given was that he went crazy) and replaced by Luke. As a kid, I hated Cousin Luke.

Lanny Kean was Cousin Junior, Gene Lewis, Cousin Luke. Kean would later be one of the Moondogs who had a good run in late-period Memphis. Trivia: Hillbilly Jim has a weekend radio show on XM radio's "Outlaw Country".

I seem to remember a Cousin Jr. or Luke in the independents, but not in the WWF. Same guy? Which one wrestled barefoot?

Larry Keane did use the Cousin Junior gimmick in the indies, along with Giant Hillbilly (formerly Uncle Elmer). I definitely remember Luke wrestling barefoot. Can't remember if Junior wore boots/shoes. Junior had the shaggy beard and floppy hat. On left, with Giant Hillbilly. Luke had a shorter beard and an idiotic habit of sitting criss-cross-applesauce in the corner at the start of every match. He's the one in the middle.
