Andre and Hogan. I can't make a decision on anyone else. Depends on which time frame or era. Dead of living, that kind of thing.
Right now the Rock is probably the most recognizable beyond both Andre and Hogan most because kids know who he is.

Including Flair was a hard choice... it was kind of a tossup between him, Andre and Cena.

If you're going to do a Mount Rushmore, I can't see not including Gorgeous George. Pretty much the greatest gimmick ever, pretty much created the idea of the over-the-top character and, thus, made a quantum leap for the sport in becoming what it become over the next decades.
Most importantly, George was the first true star of television (not just wrestling star) and is said to have been responsible for selling more TV sets than Milton Berle. He drew ratings that were flat-out phenomenal, draw huge houses and generally put wrestling on the map as a television staple.

Yeah, can't argue with Gorgeous George, but if you were to restrict it to modern era (1980-Today), the first 4 names that came to my mind were Flair, Austin, Hogan and Rocky

I think if your criteria is their impact on the main stream and how much Joe Public will have heard of them then definitely cannot argue with that list with the exception of maybe Flair.
I think the Undertaker would crop up if you went up to 100 random people and asked them to name a wrestler from the past 30 years, as probably would John Cena's, more than Ric Flair.
Of course depends where you do the poll. In Canada Bret Hart would get huge votes, in the UK probably someone like Big Daddy would be named, and in Texas you might even get the Von Erichs appearing.
However in terms of overall, I wouldn't argue with Austin, Rock and Hogan.

I can't see adding Undertaker, HBK, or Savage. Sure, they are megastars in the wrestling world, but they are virtually unknown outside of it. I wouldn't add Lesnar either, as he's more known now for being an MMA star that just happened to have been a wrestler for a while first.
Andre the Giant is/was known outside of wrestling circles. Flair's popularity down south might make him a candidate as well. Roddy Piper is also a prime candidate for being on that list, as he is also known outside of wrestling circles.

I have to say, I think you guys are really out of touch. If you're going by who's the most well known in general, Savage is only behind Rock and Hogan. Do you really think Cena and Austin are known outside of wrestling?

Do you really think Cena and Austin are known outside of wrestling? Steve Austin easily is. If I was to narrow it down to the four biggest names it'd be Austin, Hogan, Rock and Andre. The only other guy close to that kind of worldwide recognition would be Roddy Piper.

I Guarentee this guy would be in the top four if you asked the question in England. the majorty of middleaged + people would likely name him even above Hogan

Here in Germany, when you start talking about wrestling, the names most people mention are Hogan, Warrior, Undertaker, Bret Hart and HBK, then Austin, Rock and maybe Sting.

I think Flair is a wrestling legend, but not one of the biggest names, in the here and now, in 2010, in the United States.
One thing is for sure, Hogan would be on this "list" every year, from his rise in the 80s, until now.
In 2010, I think Hogan, Rock, & Austin would be the top three responses to this poll... I'm not sure who would be 4th, possibly Cena, HHH, Foley, Orton.
If it was 1998, I think the list would be something like Hogan, Goldberg, Austin, and Sable or the Rock.

For what? Nash Bridges or a small part in The Expendables? because he was the top superstar in the WWE's most popular point in history.
