When the WWF brought in Mike Tyson, was the original plan for him to fight Shamrock, who had been calling out Tyson ever since he debuted as a wrestler? I could see something similar to Mayweather/Big Show happening with the two of them.
But was this originally in the plans or not? I remember wondering why Shamrock's past challenges to Tyson weren't referenced on TV.

As long as he could avoid the punches (or take them without getting KO'd early) Shamrock would have destroyed Tyson.
EDIT: I mean, in a shoot.

I agree, but was that the plan? certainly it would've drawn more and made more sense from a booking perspective. I doubt Tyson would want to chance losing and look weak, though.

I agree with this to an extent, but you are forgetting the fact that Ken Shamrock is mentally ill. I could easily see him being foolish enough to stand with Tyson to try and prove a point.

I'm calling bulls*** on this one. Huh? I'm ASKING if this was the original plan. I have no evidence to suggest it was, besides Shamrock calling out Tyson when he came to the WWF.

No. When Tyson first debuted he clapped for Austin winning the Rumble. Then he fought with Austin/joined DX Then didn't really do anything Then turned on HBK by fast counting him.
Also Tyson would've KO'd Shamrock with one punch in 1998.

It seems odd that it was ALWAYS the plan for him to ref a match with Austin and Shawn. Especially when Shamrock already had a deal with calling him out. I'm well-aware that they had no on-screen reaction.

However, that guy was wrong far more often than he was right. In hindsight, I mean. Take it for what you will.

Well back then he was smart Ken, smarter Ken. He used to actually fight with a gameplan.

I remember what you're talking about. Seem to remember Ken calling him out on commentary actually after a match. I didn't think anything was gonna come of it at the time. Wasn't there an article about this in WWF Magazine too or am I imagining that part?
