I was scrolling through Netflix streaming and found "Luchamania: La Batalla por Mexico" which is the only actual wrestling I could find to watch. It is 2 hours chronicling a feud between Rey Misterio, Sr. and Psicosis I believe circa 1999-2000. There were 4 matches between them shown Hair vs. Mask (When Psicosis lost his mask in Mexico, which was before he did in WCW), a ladder match, a double dog collar match, and a hair vs. hair match. The matches are all pretty violent with hardly any high flying moves, Misterio says on the DVD that he was influenced after seeing ECW to use their style in these matches with Psicosis.
It is very low budget, it doesn't seemed to have been filmed with professional cameras, the commentary is in English, but the announcers recorded it 10 years later and they go back and forth talking about the matches in both the present and past tense and sound more like fans rather than announcers. However, I did find it enjoyable to see the history of a feud and to see matches I had never seen before.
So has anyone else seen this? If you haven't it can be streamed on Netflix right now.
If anyone has seen it, do you know what promotion this is from? I know it wasn't AAA or CMLL, I assume that it was a promotion owned by Rey Misterio based in Tiajuana, but I haven't been able to find any information on the internet.
Also, has anyone else found any wrestling on Netflix streaming? Because that's all I could find.
