Obviously it is nearly impossible for any company besides the WWE to be #1 in the US. However in the last few years the WWE is mainly targeting female and younger demographics. This is alienating the core audience of wrestling fans, the 18-49 year old males. So clearly there is an audience that is there for another wrestling company and I don't think TNA is the best answer.
The question is what do you want and think could be sucessful for a solid #2 US wrestling company?
I personally thought JCP and even WCW from 89-98 was a good alternative to the WWE. JCP was aimed more at adult wrestlings fans offering more adult material, violence, and more actual wrestling with athletic rather than big performers. WCW did aim at the younger audience, but like JCP featured and pushed in ring action alot more than WWE for the most part.
TNA on the other hand offers even less wrestling action than WWE, and mainly pushes older former WWE employees. It's an alternative in the aspect that it is aimed for an older audience and has more edgy material. But in alot of ways it seems like it is trying to outdo the WWE at their own game, sports entertainment.
Basically I want a company that sells itself on in ring action. They have a solid tag team division, and a cruiserweight division. Veterans are actually used to put over younger talent and help sell the company. The focus of the company is to bring in the top young talent in the US and around the world. Feature different styles much like ECW and WCW did by bringing in Mexican and Japanese wrestlers. Also not being booked by Monkeys would help. I could go on for a much longer rant of what I want, but this is the basics.
