Yeah, it's probably a good three or four years off, but might as well talk about it while everyone's in the mood.
Personally? I do kind of like the all-new thing with Black and White, but I wouldn't keep with it. Too many things could use evolutions or pre-evolutions, and there comes the problem of depriving you of some old favorites.
Also, if they remake Diamond and Pearl, it'll be the stupidest thing imaginable but I know full well I'd buy it anyway.

I'll be surprised if they don't go for a 6th gen. They're gonna milk this for all it's worth and damn if I won't buy into it.
I've been disappointed with a lot of the new designs for Pokemon, but gen 5 seems to be a lot better than gen 4 was, so I hope they get even better in gen 6.

I'll admit when I first saw all of the sprites for the Gen 5 Pokemon, I was complaining that they looked half-assed, as most of them looked like previous Pokemon. It wasn't until shortly before launch that I learned that that was intentional. They did it on purpose because they were basically doing a soft reboot of the series and wanted B&W to be like Gen I.

That was my main complaint with the third gen, honestly. I guess I was more expecting it this time around so I didn't see it as quite as bad and I didn't feel as shaken up as I did when gen 3 came out.

I'm kind of split on what generation I would say had the weakest set of Pokemon. Gold and Silver had plenty of ones the people actually making the series seem to have forgotten - when was the last time Qwilfish was used for anything? - while Diamond and Pearl had very little in the way of actual new stuff, and while the legendaries and starters were solid plenty of the rest aren't very interesting.
Ruby and Sapphire could be a contender too, especially since a lot of them had gimmicks to them. Don't really care for the starters of the generation besides Treecko's family (and really, pure Grass is somewhere between okay at best and useless), some things like Azurill are just unnecessary, and the legendaries besides the main three and Deoxys are pretty lame. Though it does have some I love, like Metagross, the Ralts family, and the like. And since catching a shiny one Plusle's grown on me.
I hope, if they do keep with the Fire / Water / Grass thing, that they at least stop with the stupid Fire / Fighting thing. It's not even that good of a combination and they keep doing it.

If they insist on the Fire/Fighting thing, then they need to make a Grass/Dark and a Water/Psychic starter. It's only fair.

a Mega-Clefable. that is all. That reminds me, I want something - like the Clefairy or Pikachu lines - to get a fourth stage of evolution.

Id love to see the series also make a transfer to WII (preferably Xbox and PS3 too but that aint gonna happen). The Pokemon RPG games would kick ass on a higher spec console and the opportunity for expansion on an already immersive game is huge.

They've already confirmed that they'll be making a Wii game along the line of Colosseum and XD.

Really, just a Fire type starter THAT'S NOT FIRE/FIGHTING. Seriously, it's really old.
As for "remakes" and stuff like that...remaking Diamond and Pearl just sounds so stupid. Unless it's on the 5Ds and every Pokemon in in 5D with fire, water, and lighting flying right at you, there's just no need.

I wish the madness would just end. Most of the 5th generation Pokemon look like they were taken directly from some Chinese fake Yu-Gi-Oh game and the others look like I drew them. Over 600 Pokemon now, is this not enough?
(And yes I'm fully aware they're making millions off it so they won't stop etc. etc. but I hate to see this once revolutionary amazing childhood game be butchered and overdone to the point of it becoming a mess. The Simpsons is in the same boat.)

Ruby and Sapphire remakes are totally unnecessary yet definitely happening, after all, and I'm sure Nintendo would miss the remake money. Not to mention how they make it easier to tweak each generation on the route to the next one. Though I could see them remaking FireRed and LeafGreen first, which while pointless isn't quite as much so.

Dear Generation VI, I would LOVE to see a Dragon/Fighting Pokemon based on this, with maybe a simpler design: www.wowwiki.com/DragonspawnYou do that, I'll love you forever.

You know you need to re-read a thread title when you think it says 'Pokemon HIV'.
On topic, I'd really like a console sandbox RPG for Pokemon.

Me and some friends were goofing around and made starters for an imaginary game.
Came up with a Grass Anteater, a Water-Ice Narwhal, and a Fire/Ground Goat.
