Ater watching Nitro in his singles matches recently on RAW ... I have to say I am actually beginning to mark for the guy.
In fact with his mannerisms, the cocky poses after his moves and Melina alongside him, I see shades of the Heartbreak Kid when he was intercontinental champion material. Some promo time for him could work wonders.
I think he could go far ... People's thoughts?

Hopefully he'll get a finisher of his own soon.

Meh, he might, but I doubt it really. Maybe an I-C title reign somewhere down the line in like 3-4 months, nothing more really. I don't think he could do it on his own, Melina is the one people want to see.

I like the kid. He was the guy I wanted to win TE over Matt and I was thrilled when both won. He does remind me of Shawn Michaels after the Rockers split and that is sad. That split was to good and memorable to recreate but, that is how wrestling works. He and Melina work well together and I love the enterance. His matches are excellent for someone who has done a majority of tag team stuff for at least 2 or 3 years now. With some time he could be a solid IC champ and maybe the next Edge (even though he will hopefully get a nice reign), someone to big to hold the IC title and competing regularly but not holding the WWE/World.

Could his break dance leg drop be the next peoples elbow/rock bottom, all he needs is a slam type move as his rock bottom/FU.

He could, but WWE needs to remind people that he's a heel with some promos, a few run-ins, or other classic heel stuff. They'll need to put him in a feud, rather than their same tired ALWAYS FAILING attempts to get midcarders over without a single feud.
He needs to stay heel unless he went through a gimmick change, which of course shouldn't be done. However if all he's going to amount to is people cheering Melina's entrance and then going to refill their soda, there's not much point.

True, but remember, despite all the butterface accusations, Melina's entrance is something to admire. I could see Nitro haveing good matches with Shelton, Haas, and UUUUUUUMMMMMAAAAAGGGA! (had to add that one in there). Nitro could be groomed for the IC title, especially now that the prospects for that title are slowly diminishing in number.

He has a good look but needs to tweak his skills a little bit. I can see the HBK side your talking about. He needs to use the mic and do more promos and then he should do fine. As for Melina, not too high on her but I did like the whole MNM kidnaping Trish angle she did. Wish they would have expanded on it a little more though.
But of course this is the "E", Nitro will be jobbing on the webcast to whoever is coming up next.

I think his move set is shaping out to be pretty neat. I for one sometimes wonder what if anything a guy like that may be holding back with all of this safe-style stuff that is going on in WWE. I'd like to see more out of him, but honestly would still mark if he that is it for his move set.
I'm not sure what he has established for himself in so far as an individual character after the formation of MNM and all that, but he made me laugh when he was Eric Bischoff's right hand stooge "Johnny Ace"(who later changed it to "Nitro" to kiss Eric's ass story-wise). So if that is any indication I think he's got the skills to pay the bills.

I think he needs to be in some sort of stable to be effective in the future.

He's so bland in-ring to me.
Mercury, as many have said, was the star of that group.

Something about Nitro on monday bugged me...When Hass knocked Lillian off the ring and the entire arena went silent...
Now....I don't know if he was really pissed off, or was just trying to get cheep heat or to get the crowd back, but when there was a small LILLIAN chant starting, he shouted WHO CARES ABOUT LILLIAN, COME ON!
It bugged me. My personal opinion was that he was just being a dick...but it couldve been the other options I said above. Also..maybe its because they are still green, but neither Hoss or Nitro did anything about Lillian..they just pretended nothing happened. When you have experienced performers, and something goes wrong, they at least try and salvage the situation...like when Foley was knocked cold in HITC, and The Funker helped out by getting chockslammed by Taker, to give Foley some time to get back into it...
any opinions?

I don't think he should've said that, not as a heel, but it's giving more attention to what's happening outside the ring (which to be honest was more interesting than the match itself).
I remember one week he was called Johnny Spade as well.

I think he has potential. Yet, there are a lot of mid card stars that have potential. The WWE never makes use of them and just uses them for filler in between their main events. That's the really sad thing.
If they would just get rid of the US title, keep the IC title and have the champion compete on both shows, they could begin to restore some serious respectability to both that championship and the mid card performers.
Neither show has enough mid carders left to seriously do that, but if they combined both, there could be some really good matches come out of that.
I think Johnny could easily be the next up and coming HBK. Give him more moments to reinforce the fact he's a heel, and to push his gimmick a bit further. Give him a serious feud with a known respectible mid card performer that is willing to job to put him over. Work on developing some more mic time to improve his skills in that area, possibly with a Rock style type angle, at least as far as the cockyness of it goes. That would fit his gimmick well, and it would help keep him in the notice of the fans.
If the WWE were to do that, they could have a seriously popular heel that could easily have a solid IC title reign, and who knows? maybe move up to main event status some day. Afterall, when the Rockers split, no one ever expected HBK to happen or become a world champion. Yet he worked it, Johnny could too.
