OK, while watching Raw, they had a commercial for Gillette Fusion ProGlide. Fair enough.
But the product they were putting it against was...Gillette Mach 3 Turbo.
...Why?
Why bash YOUR OWN PRODUCT to sell another? Wouldn't it make sense to plug BOTH, to get MORE sales?
I just don't get it.

They're probably not going to keep making the older model, so they're plugging the new one over the previous issue to move their clientele towards the future of the company's products.
Makes sense actually.

The Mach 3 is their most used razor in the US. They're comparing the new product against something people use and already have an opinion of

<Cena busts through the wall and goads you into using it.> Oh don't get me wrong, I use the Fusion (due to shaving my head, the less cuts the better). It just seems strange advertising to me. They still sell the model that came BEFORE the Mach 3.

Hmmm...I guess I'm living in the dark ages. Two blades on my safety razor seems to work just fine for me, with razor burn only when I'm a dolt and forget to sterilize the blade before I shave.

They are trying to get mach 3 users to by the upgrade. I'm a D&D nerd I've seen this before.

I'd probably use Schick, but I don't get those goddamn wires that go up and down the blades.

It doesn't matter if you get Gillette, you're going to use it, lest you answer to the purple red shirt of doom on your bathroom break.

The Mach3 blows the fusion out of the water.

Gillette acknowledging Schick in the US, at least, would be like WWE acknowledging TNA. Occassionally a nod is made, but they're hardly in the same league in popularity. Ditto with Apple and their iPhones and iPads.
But I've switched to Fusion and enjoy it. Gillette was nice enough to send me a free starter kit to try it out and with their coupons/sales at CVS and other places, I just keep grabbing new starter kits for $2-$5. Luckily, a head usually lasts me six months or more, especially if it doesn't mysteriously end up in the bath where the steam kills it quicker.
Schick's wires are weird but my beef with them with the Quatro (last I used) was that the head was just too big. It was too much work trimming around my sideburns, stache and goat. Gillettes slightly smaller heads and precision blade are money.

I'd probably use Schick, but I don't get those goddamn wires that go up and down the blades. I'm not quite sure how those wires work either, all I know is that the hydrating gel leaves my face feeling fan-f***ing-tastic after I shave. I tried the Hydro 5 when it came out, after using the Fusion since it had come out, and I have no intention of switching back. Plus, refill cartridges for the Hydro 5 are a few bucks cheaper then for the Fusion

I hate those, it makes it so much harder to clean my blades up, tho I love Schick Quattro despite those, it just works better than any previous blades ive used, and the funny thing is I just picked it up originally cause it came in orange and it matched my bathroom million other orange things.
