I know the ad rates went to hell after a while but what the hell were they spending on so much that they lost 70 mil I believe. Also when the WWE starts its cable network its got to have to show the best of the XFL

A football league is expensive as hell to run. Gotta pay the players, etc on top of every other huge expense.

Because Vince made some terrible deals due to being blinded by his ego. He clearly can't play the game when he's not in complete control.

I think Vince having his wrestlers appear in actual XFL vignettes to promote it was a terrible idea in retrospect. That killed off any chance for the general public to take it seriously.

Wasn't one of the big deals the fact that they managed to pick about the worst game to nationally televise every week? (Well it seemed that way looking back.) I watched a few of the games. My dad watched the first two weeks or so. My grandfather watched everyone that aired but he's a huge football fan.

the one time i tried to watch XFL i noticed that they were trying to create characters (like how the WWE has faces and heels) this is not possible in football.
no one wants to see character development in such a fast paced game. (that is why people like Tom brady or Reggie bush become stars outside of the sport.)

Donald Trump said of the USFL BEFORE buying a team a quote I find quite famous "If God had wanted football in the spring he wouldn't have invented baseball." Two football leagues were attempted twice before and failed let us not forget...   Arena Football managed to die and come back though. |
