Since I know we've got a lot of movie buffs here I figured it would be fun to discuss the top movies of last year. Which ones you saw, didn't see, liked, didn't like, etc.

I loved Inception. It's my favorite movie of all time. Additionally, it's more proof that Christopher Nolan can do no wrong.
I also saw Shutter Island. Really enjoyed this as well.
Those are the only two I saw that were the top 20 money makers.

Last Airbender was okay. Never got all the hate for it.
Despicable Me was pretty good, but the ending was a bit lacking. Plus, musical numbers at the end need to die.

I personally enjoyed Megamind alot more than Despicable Me, which I personally thought kinda sucked.

Toy Story 3: Pixar does it again.
Iron Man 2: Had some good scenes but it kind of petered out during the climax.
Shrek Forever After: Not as good as the first, but a huge step up from the awful third.
Despicable Me: It was cute but nothing really laugh out loud funny, save for the scene where Gru backhands the Shark.
Megamind: Enjoyed it a little more then DM as it had few more laugh out moments then that movie, but then again I am little biased in the regard being a David Cross mark and all.
How to Train Your Dragon: A good little popcorn flick with some nice little touches. IE the cat like dragon.
Tangled: Skeptical going into it, but turned out to be an all right little movie.
Pft I'm an animation buff what can I say?

I've only seen two of those movies.
Inception was pretty good, one of the better movies I've seen recently. I loved Toy Story 3.

If "The Last Airbender" wasn't based off of the Avatar franchise, and was just a fantasy film that M. Night Shymalan decided to do, there would be less hate for it.
As for the list, I've seen several of them and enjoyed those I've seen (Toy Story 3, Inception, Tron Legacy, How to Train Dragon, etc.)

I'll try to keep my opinions brief, because I saw most of them
1. Toy Story 3 (415M)- Beautiful ending to an amazing trilogy
2. Alice in Wonderland (334.2M)- Fun, enjoyable, but nothing special
3. Iron Man 2 (312.4M)- Really enjoyable, but definitely lacking compared to the first
4. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (300.5M)- Better overall film then the first 2, but nothing really happens. Everything at the end is the same as at the beginning except the Blonde chick is dead.
5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (295M)- Great movie, really enjoyable, sets up the finale without feeling like it left everything for the finale
6. Inception (292.6M)- Damn good movie, but not as great as everyone said. Not to say I didn't like it, but I felt The Town should've gotten the Best Picture nod over it
7. Despicable Me (251.5M)- Really fun kids flick, but nothing too special
8. Shrek Forever After (238.7M)- Can we just get to the Puss in Boots movie already? Still, better then the 3rd one tho
9. How to Train Your Dragon (217.6M)- Surprisingly enough, I haven't seen it
10. Tangled (199.7M)- Good movie, but nowhere near as good as Princess and the Frog
11. The Karate Kid (176.6M- didn't see
12. TRON: Legacy (172.1M)- Lotta fun, some of the best use of 3D I've seen yet. I actually really enjoyed this movie
13. True Grit (171.1M)- Awesome movie. Nothing to say that hasn't been said
14. Clash of the Titans (163.2M)- Didn't see
15. Grown Ups (162M)- Yawn. There were, at best, a handful of laughs here
16. Little Fockers (148.4M)- Didn't see
17. Megamind (148.3M)- Really good movie. Have to watch it again to decide which I liked better, it or Despicable Me
18. The King's Speech (135.5M)- Deserved every accolade it got. Bloody good film
19. The Last Airbender (131.8M)- Didn't see
20. Shutter Island (128M)- Really good movie, a tad predictable but really enjoyable none the less

All the films I saw. I need to watch HtTYD again though, as when I saw it, I dozed off for about 15-20 minutes (don't fret, I was in a hotel room). It premieres on HBO I believe next weekend, so there you go. Out of the stuff I saw though was fantastic.
Either way, those are the movies I saw, some more enjoyable than others. I think Iron Man 2 was the weakest out of the bunch for me. It was enjoyable, but far from the first. And yes...I loved TRON more than IM2. Don't judge me.

I've seen 17 of those, with Karate Kid, Little Fockers, and Last Airbender not making the cut.
My friends and I do our own little 'Oscar' type thing, watching as many movies possible and ranking/grading them and what not before compiling results and doing our own awards, heres where those 17 that I saw fell in my rankings:
3. The Kings Speech 5. Inception 10. True Grit 17. Toy Story 3 18. How to Train Your Dragon 23. Tangled 34. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I 38. TRON: Legacy 39. Shutter Island 60. Alice in Wonderland 61. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse 64. Despicable Me 66. Iron Man 2 67. Shrek Forever After 78. Megamind 81. Grown Ups 90. Clash of the Titans

Heh. Forgot to put my own opinions in this one, too.
1. Toy Story 3 (415M) The best animated film I've ever seen. 2. Alice in Wonderland (334.2M) Not terrible, but should have just been called "Tim Burton Movie" since he's becoming a parody of himself. 3. Iron Man 2 (312.4M) Loved it just as much as the first. 4. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (300.5M) Will this s*** just end already? 5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (295M) Loved it. Possibly my favorite of the entire series (so far) 6. Inception (292.6M) Outstanding. Nolan can do no wrong in my eyes. 7. Despicable Me (251.5M) Amusing, but nothing special. 8. Shrek Forever After (238.7M) Not bad, better than 3, nowhere near 1 and 2. 9. How to Train Your Dragon (217.6M) Haven't seen it. 10. Tangled (199.7M) Haven't seen it. 11. The Karate Kid (176.6M) Stop it, Will Smith. Just stop it. 12. TRON: Legacy (172.1M) Haven't seen it. 13. True Grit (171.1M) The Dude plays The Duke! How can you go wrong? You can't! Loved everything about this one. 14. Clash of the Titans (163.2M) Cheesy remake of a movie that was cheesy to begin with. 15. Grown Ups (162M) Haven't seen it. 16. Little Fockers (148.4M) Haven't seen it. 17. Megamind (148.3M) Haven't seen it. 18. The King's Speech (135.5M) Got it recently, but haven't watched it yet. 19. The Last Airbender (131.8M) Piss off, M. Night 20. Shutter Island (128M) Well written, and well acted, but I figured out the "shocking twist" before the movie was halfway over.

Of the ones I've seen:
Toy Story 3 - Liked it slightly better than the first two but still didn't care for it. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 - Really enjoyed it. Inception - Hated it. Despicable Me - Loved it. One of my favorites from that year. Shrek Forever After - Liked it. Not my favorite of the franchise but it entertained me. How To Train Your Dragon - My favorite movie of that year. Loved it. The Karate Kid - Thought it was good. Not great, but good. TRON: Legacy - I liked it. Grown Ups - Didn't like it,didn't hate it. It was just kind of there. Megamind - I really liked this one as well. Shutter Island - I thought it was good but like some others,I figured out the twist partway through the movie.
