Well Fappers? For the last year my New Years Resolution was ''To be a Nicer,Calmer Person.'' But recently after my job has switched me to Night Shift, I've been finding myself snapping at family and freinds during the day for small things.
I say I'm trying to be calm but it doesn't dawn on me till after the fact about what I just did. I need a way to calm down.
So Fappers how do you do it?

Smile. Smile the biggest fakest smile that you can. I know it will feel silly, but when you're body language doesn't match your mood, your mood will actually improve to match your body language.
Not sure how this works, but it works.

I flick my thumb nail and the nail of ring finger on my right hand off each other, kinda catching the ring finger nail under the thumb nail and making a cliking, clacking sound that calms me down.
Unfortunately people have realised this and then call me on why im pissed.

Don't hit a pillow or anything like that. You just end up reinforcing aggression.

Deep, slow breaths. Try taking a short walk, around the house/block or so.

Weekly yoga sessions. Embracing meditation and a mindset that allows for greater perspective can help a person to get a better grip on a situation, and not allow smaller and less consequential things to override the logic that "this isn't the end of the world."
Won't always work, but I find that the only person I tend to get overly annoyed with now is myself when I let myself down (which is something I'm also trying to work on); other people certainly get on my nerves, but I work on reinforcing that they're not ruining my life or anything.
That being said...I WILL get angry when people are driving like idiots around me. Then they ARE potentially ruining my life.

Music and solitude help me, personally. Particularly, for some reason, Michael Jackson music REALLY calms me down. Especially his early stuff.

Don't hit a pillow or anything like that. You just end up reinforcing aggression. yeah, do NOT vent your aggression in a violent way. If you feel like still venting in a physical way, go for a run, do some pushups or something like that. But if the first line of thought is "I'm angry. I need to hit something", then yeah, that's not really dealing with anger(in a constructive way).

Get him into the teleport pod, and teleport him...thus bonding him to the machine and pretty much killing h...
Oh wait, you meant on the fly...as in "the spur of the moment."
Well, I just think of funny things I've read or heard...comic moments or jokes, that sort of thing.

Supressing your anger will not solve anything. It's better to scream at your family a thousand times and leave it at that than keeping your anger inside until you explode and kill them.

Music always helps me either listening to it or playing it always calms me down I sometimes miss playing in an extreme metal band cos you get to scream your lungs out about the s*** of the day.
But if in a crappy mood and cant be bothered listening to music I tend to play the xbox or just sit in my room till it passes.

When I was in residency my first solo procedure was a spinal surgery on a sixteen year old kid, a girl. And at the end, after thirteen hours, I was closing her up and I accidentally ripped her dural sac, shredded the base of the spine where all the nerves come together, membrane as thin as tissue. And so it ripped open and the nerves just spilled out of her like angel hair pasta, spinal fluid flowing out of her and I... and the terror was just so crazy. So real. And I knew I had to deal with it. So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take over, let it do its thing, but only for five seconds, that's all I was going to give it. So I started to count: one, two, three, four, five. Then it was gone. I went back to work, sewed her up and she was fine.
