Now, I might be remembering this wrong, so hear me out.
Peter has begun accepting and remembering his past as Peter Pan, and he thinks back of how he got to Neverland in the first place. IT shows his carriage rolling, and he says he ran away because he did not want to grow up, as growing up meant he would die someday.
Fair enough, but when it showed him, he was a baby in a stroller. How the hell does a baby "run away"? And how the hell is this small child so intimately familiar with mortality?

It was the Victorian era, babies were more world weary and telekinetic.

I always wondered about that scene too. But for a different reason. He said he didn't want to grow up? Then how did he get from being a baby to being a 12 year old. If he was brought to neverland as a baby, wouldn't he remain a baby?

It's a film where people fly and a fairy carries a grown man to a fantasy land, so I wouldn't worry too much about the plausibilities.

He was remembering it through the eyes of a young child, doesn't necessarily mean he was remembering it accurately.

This strikes me more like they wrote Robin Williams' lines before changing the scene, without fixing what he said.

this was one of the biggest plot holes that I was amazed no one in the production of that movie caught.

I, too, have a Hook related question: Who would win in a fight, Neverland Lost Boys or Vampire Lost Boys?

I take it to mean that in the mythos the Peter Pan world childhood is a time when your innocence is in itself a very real and very powerful magic of sorts. Growing up makes you forget this power and so I guess a baby would be very powerful in a manner of speaking if that is true. Sort of how I've always seen it anyhow.

Sort of like a less ridiculous Baby Geniuses?

I love the movie, plot holes or poorly explained allegories be damned!
