I wonder if it will stink worse than Fred Flintstone's Ass.

I need to see a clip. I wouldn't put it past him to keep it traditional and just making it a little more up to date as far as situations and storylines and whatnot while keeping the conduct of it under control...
...I could also see him turning it to smut and say it's trying to update it to "modern-day prime time standards".

How long into the new Flinstones will it be until we see a Twitter joke in which a character uses an actual bird to "tweet". I wonder if they'll keep the laugh track and if the opening and closing will keep them watching the episode at the drive in theatre and then off to the car hop to get the big rack of ribs that overturns the car?

I don't know. Seth MacFarlane seems like to be a smart guy and I'm pretty sure he can make a good family kids cartoon. Look what he created before Family Guy. I always know about Brian and Peter being based on these two (I think the pilot episodes of Family Guy even reused a couple of jokes as these two shorts) But I ALWAYS forget the pilot with Quagmires voice and the store called Stewies... Language warning: Basically every joke was reused in Family Guy

I'm interested to see what Seth can pull out. My only concern is this is Seth's fourth show. What does Seth bring that him and other writers haven't said with AD, DG, or the Cleveland show?
Also, with all these cartoons I really think Fox is aiming for another night of Animation Domination.

Folks, if you loved the old school Hanna-Barbera show, stay the hell away from this. No good can come from it. From what we've seen of Seth's take on the Flintstones, Betty is secretly hot for Fred, Fred has a gambling problem, and he & Wilma are an overpriced shopping dress away from domestic battery. This is going to be bowling-shoe ugly. I lol'd.

I've been thinking it for a while, but they keeping getting more and more animated shows in the works I think they'll have to do another night. Unless they all tank. Which I think atleast Napoleon Dynamite will

For all I know it could be an unexpected smash hit like Bob's Burgers, but I don't know.

They probably picked him because he's the most successful animation producer in the last 20 years.

If you really want the original version, than no Pebbles and Bam Bam, no softy Fred.
I want the raw Fred Flintstones from the first couple of seasons. After Pebbles was born, he went soft. There is a reason Jackie Gleason said if the Honeymooners continued Ralph and Alice would never have kids. And Pebbles is prove of why.

So true, but Fred going soft is actually also a very realistic character change after the birth of a child. But I do prefer the pre-pebbles episodes so much more.

Times like this I am glad I don't own a tv. Regardless what my opinion of McFarlane and his work, I could make a long list of failed remakes. When will Hollywood understand that people are sick of remakes? And on tv, it has never worked. The new Ren and Stimpy still haunts my nightmares. The New Munsters was thankfully forgetable. Yo Yogi, an attempt to update Yogi Bear for the 90's was a disaster. I haven't heard another word about the new Beavis and Butthead but I have already laid out the reason that is destined for failure. I don't want to be negative about everything. But some things are just products of their time. Sure, I love Hanna Barbara cartoons. But the world has moved on. Family Guy, sadly, is a product of the time we live in now. A new Flintstones will have to be changed to attract a modern audience who will find it anarchronistic at best, and that will turn off the core audience whom are already older and fickle.

At least he didn't touch Wait Till Your Father Gets Home. I'd rather someone make a new series of that, just as long as someone else does it.

If it's anything like Cartoon Network's "Flintstones on the Rocks" TV movie, it would be great.
