The past couple weeks OLP have been broadcasting their recording sessions live on UStream so fans can watch them record the album as it's happening.
Some bands do the occasional video update from the studio but I've never seen a band give their fans this kind of live access to their creative process

Every time I hear their name, I just think, "Crossface! Crossface!"

That is incredibly cool and I hope more bands start doing the same. I think people would be more inclined to buy an album if they see it actually coming together. Plus moves like this make people more invested in the band itself. It humanizes the whole thing.

Groovy. I may check that out, thought my limited experience in recording sessions is that it's deathly boring unless you're a musician yourself.
Saw OLP with Three Doors Down in Cheyenne some years back. They put on a good show as co-headliner with 3DD. Good show, definitely worth the $17 or whatever I wound up paying for tickets.

I can't take that band name seriously, there is an all girls Catholic school here w/ the same name. Anytime I hear OLP, I think of that.

If you're a fan of Brett Hestla (former lead singer of Virgos (Merlot), Dark New Day, and was the fill-in bassist for Creed during their Weathered days), he does a lot of production and streams his studio sessions on Ustream. Friend him on Facebook and he posts up links to watch whenever he goes live.

OLP is my favorite band. I'm happy to hear this about UStream. Going to have to check it out.

Our Lady Peace has like 4 Platinum albums according to the CRIA.
That's a total of over 320,000 records sold in Canada alone!

KoRN did this in 1998. They would Realplayer stream episodes of "KoRN TV."
