So, I finally have gotten into playing FO:NV... and honestly, so far I'm enjoying it more then FO3... maybe it's just the setting, but it just seems more fun. I haven't encountered any glitches so far (guess most have been patched now) so everything has been smooth. What do y'all think?

Definitely New Vegas. It took everything that made FO3 great, expended on it, removed the bad stuff, and even made the gameplay closer to the first two games. This one reconciled old-school and new-school fans of the series.
What I especially like about it is that it feels like things are looking up for the world. Sure, there are still raiders and gangs, but civilization is apparently rebuilding itself and things aren't looking as grim and desperate as in FO3. That was my main problem with 3 BTW, this is supposed to be taking place two hundred years after the war ended, yet things actually seem to be WORSE than in 1 and 2, which only take place a few decades after the war.
And generally, the atmosphere that made 1 and 2 great seems to be back. Heck, at least we don't have the "real is brown" style, which really started ticking me off after a while.

I love both, but New Vegas gets the nod for me. The storytelling is excellent, and it just looks so much better, not to mention every problem I had with Fallout 3 was fixed in New Vegas. I admit I wasn't fond of it at first but now i'd say it's probably one of my favorite games ever.

I'd have to give the edge to Fallout 3 considering I've beaten it twice and haven't played through New Vegas yet. Not because I don't like it but because I just haven't had the time.

I've heard New Vegas has CHANDLER as one of the games villians, that means I must buy it someday.

I've heard New Vegas has CHANDLER as one of the games villians, that means I must buy it someday. Apparently Matthew Perry was a HUGE fan of Fallout 3 so when they found out, they put him in New Vegas. Apparently he was going on talk shows giving out free copies of the game and telling everyone that's all he's been doing is playing Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 wasn't Fallout. I did not have the Fallout humor, style etc. New Vegas on the other side did it right.

I say Fallout 3. I never did play the original games, but New Vegas seemed to be a lot more buggy than 3 was. I can only ever play NV for a few hours before it crashes and I have to reset my console.

I prefer 3 to NV, The story felt better and the landscape was more recognisable, plus I can't take a bunch of guys dressing up in roman armor seriously. I mean this is the post nuclear worl where the hell did they get roman uniforms?
I can't think where I would get hundreds of roman uniforms in real life.

That's half of Fallout- Things that does not make sence Other half are things that are making fun of 50s

It's a difficult call, but I'd have to give the nod to New Vegas. I like the openness of both games, but in Fallout 3 it's a little TOO open at times, sometimes you're just stuck in an area and have no idea where to go because it's the wrong time of day for a quest-giver, or whatever. Which is fine when you're on your second playthrough, but can get frustrating on your first. New Vegas makes sure you have a guideline of where to go next so you can feel free to explore and do whatever you want, but you never have a sense of being lost as to where your next quest is coming from.
On that note.. I should really pick those games up again.

Fallout 3s world meshes together nicely, where as New Vegas feels like a hodge podge of groups with no real theme running through it. Plus in New Vegas it's not free roam as first thing I did after seeing the doctor and the bar people was to turn north and promptly got horribly killed by some giant insects. It felt like I was being forced to follow the man in the chequered suits path, not my own.

You always knew what way to go, but along that path there are plenty of sidequests to pick up as well.

People tend to give 3 the edge I've seen, as it was the original, so it was more exciting & everything was new. I personally prefer New Vegas, as it takes that greatness & expands on it greatly. I just hope that after Lonesome Road we can play after the ending.

I have ONE minor FO:NV complaint though... I found some combat armor pretty early in the game, and have yet to find another set to repair it lol Or even anyone who CAN repair it for me.

EASILY New Vegas. After awhile I didn't like the actual FO3 too much while New Vegas felt more like a true Fallout 3 in every sense. Hell, Obsidian even used a lot of the stuff they had from Van Buren (the codename for the original FO3 before Black Isle was dissolved and Interplay sold off the rights to the series) in New Vegas so I think of it more as the actual Fallout 3 while Bethesda's FO3 is a spinoff in the vein of Tactics or Brotherhood of Steel or something.

Of course, that could be a load of crap, but I don't think they'd lie about that kind of thing.

I liked both, but 3 is the top for me. I just loved that whole game.

Lonesome Road takes place some time before the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, in the Great Divide. It's not going to add the ability to play after you've beaten the game, which is why I'm waiting for it to come out before I finish.
