So I just started playing Minecraft and holy hell is it addicting. Does anyone else play? Anyone know any good multi-player servers or something? I've only tried single player so far. Does anyone have any cool stories to tell?

So I just started playing Minecraft and holy hell is it addicting. Does anyone else play? Anyone know any good multi-player servers or something? I've only tried single player so far. Does anyone have any cool stories to tell? Ooooh boy. I heard so much about it, but I never really felt like playing. Then a friend got me to try it. Several hours of TV Tropes-esque unexplainable addiction later, I built myself an underground lair complete with a mine (BTW, creating your own underground lair AND digging a mine inside it is a perfect way to gather resources without having enemies spawn). If I can give you a few tips: _Never, EVER dig right bellow yourself. You never know when you'll end up over a hidden cave and fall twenty feet below/into lava; _Speaking of lava, be VERY careful around it. Dying by falling into it guarantees you will lose everything you were carrying, and getting burned by it means you'll die quickly if you don't find any water (try to have a bucket on you if you have to go near the thing); _Dig an underground lair. It's not only cool, it allows you to have a safe spot for the night very fast since you obviously don't need to build walls and all that stuff, monsters don't spawn inside player-created caves and again, it's a great way to gather resources; _Try to tame a wolf (by giving them a bone). They are pretty good fighters and will definitely come in handy if you end up on the outside too late and get surrounded by mobs; _ALWAYS keep torches, they keep monsters away. In fact, by using torches intelligently, you can create roads around your hideout that you'll even be able to cross by night without getting attacked by mobs... mostly; _For your own sake, welcome our new Creepers overlords.

I haven't tried it out yet, but seeing this video has me contemplating it.

I haven't tried it out yet, but seeing this video has me contemplating it. Good sir, did you know that Minecraft maps are -and I'm not even kidding- EIGHT TIMES AS BIG AS THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH?!

Don't get in over your head.
Possible language warning, my sound card is busted.
