A lot of people around here lament the death of WWECW, mainly because it gave the mid and undercard something to do since there isn't a whole lot of room for them on RAW and Smackdown outside of the occasional squash match or battle royale.
Well, the thing is, we still have Superstars. It's billed as a nonbranded show where any match can handed, but NONE of the guys in the intro appear on the show. Guys like Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio wouldn't be caught dead on that show. Hell, I'm not sure if the WWE even remembers the show exists. They never, ever advertise it, but they'll promote the hell out of NXT for some reason. It's a shame though, because I think the Superstar regulars put on great matches, are a lot of fun and are just DYING for something to do.
So, here's my idea. Make Superstars another brand. Give them a belt. It can be considered minor league, but at least it will give the wrestlers on the show SOMETHING to fight over. Also, mention the show on RAW or Smackdown. With all the recaps and plugging they do, the least they can do is take 10 seconds to mention Superstars.
Anyone have any insight as to why Superstars is pretty much ignored by the WWE? An extra hour of TV each week has so much potential...

It's basically just warm-up matches that might as well be thrown on TV. Also, it's syndicated instead of on a network, which makes it less reliable to promote and harder to advertise on a national level.

I agree, i would also move it to Saturday mornings. It would help with the young audience WWE wants, and then they wouldnt have to compete with NBC's unstoppable Thursday lineup.

it's okay like it is. Simple, yet effective commentating. A chance for them to promote raw and smackdown. gives midcard guys somewhere to work without the pressure of really getting ratings or pretending they're doing something 'revolutionary' (WWECW, NXT, or anything like is being suggested)
and definitely no more belts. there's too many of them. and a new one for midcarders won't mean much.
the wwe isn't a wrestling company, any longer, but if they were I'd suggest something like WCW worldwide where a t.v. belt could be defended or a show based around luchas or cruiserweights, but the WWE wants "ethnic" stars pushed on the major brands and has no interest in weight classes, because that's too much like a sport
