I know with the INSANE number of PPVs going, it's getting harder, but I was curious if anyone still did marathons of old PPVs to warm up for the most current event, especially the big 4 (Rumble, Mania, SSlam and the Series)?

WrestleMania marathons are my yearly tradition. This year I started going backwards. I've knocked out every one from 11-25 (except XV; I have to be in a sadistic mood to bring that bad boy out). (I don't have 1, 6 or 10, so I have to use the extra disc WM 2000 had for those.)
I can't really do the other ones because I don't have too many of them.

I am kind of doing a marathon of Royal Rumble right now, actually. Never have done it before. Last year, I did somewhat of one for the Wrestlemanias that I own but they were a while before WM, like a month or two. I should try this sometime.

In the weeks leading up, I'd select PPV's to watch based on quality and/or mood. For example, tonight I'm going to watch the 2008 Royal Rumble, and then with the Wrestlemanias, I'm gonna start with 14 real soon!

Not marathons, but usually before Royal Rumble time I'll watch a couple of old ones to whet my appetite.

I do that with Rumble matches. i only own up to 2007 though.
I love doing it because you really do see how much wrestlers change in the span of one year.

That's kind of the problem I have with the marathons too. Combo of not having EVERYTHING and sometimes, the events are just... bad.
On the bright side, a December to Dismember marathon would be short. Excruitiating, but short.

How about outside the big 4 lol. I have every Vengeance on DVD (yes even 2002), I could do a marathon of those! Seriously though I'll do Rumble Marathons sometimes, but only the Rumble matches themselves.

I wouldn't argue against doing either. I wish I had more WW(F) DVDs, I was just a stubborn punk who thought tape off feed tapes were better, why would I want extras?
Paying for it now.
It's too late to marathon Rumbles, but maybe do No Way Out/Elimination Chamber in Feb.

I have a friend who did when he was out of work and had the time to spare.

Think I'll pop in a Rumble right now. Thinking 1991, but 1989 may sneak its way in instead...

Watched the '92 earlier today.
I still can't figure out why they let Martel get back in the ring.

I've sorta been marathoning the Survivor Series, as in one every Friday since Christmas when I got the SS Anthology. Still really pissed that they only released 1987 - 1996, it's not like we don't know what happened in 1997

I try to every year with the Royal Rumble, and then again with WrestleMania.
Every year it's the same thing. I get about 3-4 PPVs in and then I run out of time, or chose to start watching someone else. So far this weekend I've watched the entire 2002 Royal Rumble, and now I'm almost done disc 2 of Saturday Nights Main event. I will likely finish this set later this morning and then take a break this afternoon before watching tonight’s PPV.
I don't bother with SummerSlam or Survivor Series though....

You know each volume is going to include 5 PPVs, so it just happens the cutoff is there. Plus, given that Bret and the E seem to be OK with each other now, it shouldn't be an issue. Sales seems to be the problem now. I'd love them to start up again, especially if Sur. Series is going away, but we shall see.

I've been collecting Royal Rumbles lately, buying the 2009/2010 Wal-Mart 2-pack then getting 2005 and 2006 online.

I spent the last 20 or so days going through all the Royal Rumbles.
Yesterday I did last years.
I have a WrestleMania marathon set up to (one a day counting up to the day of the event)
