I've heard that the ending of WWF St. Valentines Day Massacre, the part where the cage gave out and Stone Cold won the match would been a botch. Is this true? I doubt it was botched, but I just want to clear this out.

The only way it could've been a both is if Austin recovered from being thrown into the cage to give Big Show and Vince a stunner and then climb out but I don't see that as being booked.

If it was botched then Austin would've taken a dangerous spill out of the ring when the cage gave out instead of holding on to drop to the floor.

This reminds me of that time Lashley speared through the cage on ECW. God, they were trying so hard to make him cool and badass, weren't they?

Likewise, if you note in the pic the ref on the floor.
He was next to the cage join that 'broke' - probably holding it together to make sure it didn't come apart prematurely.

Surely not a botch. If it was then it was the most awesome and convenient botch ever!

Vince took a man-sized bump in this match. He went back first on the edge of the announce table from nearly the top of the cage.
There aren't a lot of billionaires willing to do that.

Obviously planned, it was the finish of the match.

I'm sure the wrestlers don't. The old cages don't give way like the chain link cages do.

Yeah I think it was Edge who said in his book that that style cage hurt like hell and gave him lumps on his head.

This wasn't a botch, but I'm sure the end of the Undertaker/Big Show Punjabi Prison match was. It was kinda similar to this one, but didn't look like it should've happened.

It seemed like it was part of the plan given that Austin landed near the referee.
