Let's face it, moves like the Paydirt/Play of the Day/Ginger Snap have been passed around the locker room like ring rats these days, but it's not the first time it's happened. I think I got all the overly common finishers, but if I somehow managed to forget one, you know what to do.

I won't even list a particular finisher, but I am getting sick and tired of the infamous DDT being used as a time-waster to get back into the match.
A move that was once used to cripple somebody is now just a "hope-spot" in the match. Just sad, is all.

The pumphandle slam, finisher of choice for midcard hosses for most of the Attitude Era.

Spinning reverse neckbreaker/rolling cutter. Just some I can list who used it: Luther Reigns, Ted DiBiase Jr., Test, Carlito, Cody Rhodes.

Several years ago the Backcracker was the go-to move for midcarders with no real finisher. See Maven, Carlito, Rene Dupree, etc.

I voted for the overdrive as that shouldn't have been used more than once.

Any time they give a guy a regular sleeper as a finisher move tends to be pretty boring. Granted at least to my knowledge they haven't done that for a while.

Anyways, I think the most overused finisher is probably the Testdrive/Crossrhodes. Though the Jumping Reverse STO is getting up there as well.

You could say the same thing for the spinebuster, which Triple H, Austin, and Rock ALL used regularly as comeback transition moves.

Those different twisting neckbreakers for finishers.
It seems like at one point, almost half of the entire WWE roster used them

Spinning reverse neckbreaker/rolling cutter. Just some I can list who used it: Luther Reigns, Ted DiBiase Jr., Test, Carlito, Cody Rhodes. I gotta tell ya though, Cody's getting CrossRhodes over well. Its been his finish for a copule of years now, has a cool easy to remember name, and always looks pretty good sometimes looks awesome. Its a good finish for a smaller guy thats not a big high flier, like Cody.

ECW was great with these moves, once in a while all you needed to win was a big ol' DDT or Piledriver, even though that wasn't necessarily the guy's finish. Now, Piledrivers are completely banned, and DDT's are completely undersold. Weird, wild stuff.

It's all about how the move is sold; the opponent has to put some torque in the body to make the move look great.
