The End of the Dashing Gimmick?

Just curious... I think it's (more than) a bit early to call this, but my friends and I had a weird feeling that Rhodes' nose being broken was perhaps the start of Creative forcing the end of the Dashing gimmick. Why they would do this, I don't know- I think it's an absolutely fantastic gimmick, and I don't think it's gotten stale at all. But maybe not. I'm half-hoping it'll just be a fun excuse for Cody to go after and maybe destroy Mysterio.

Is it a kayfabe injury, or no? Anyone know?

I never liked the "Dashing" gimmick because I've never liked these type of gimmicks. It's definitely a kayfabe injury because if he really did have a broken nose, then it would have definitely been reported all over the internet a few days ago. I expect Rey Mysterio to win the feud against him even after he returns. I also don't see Cody winning any singles title this year. He's a good wrestler though, but there's many stars on SmackDown! that are far bigger stars than him at this time.

I figure this is just to continue with the recent theme of Cody having a secret sadistic streak under the camp value and to transition him into a feud with Mysterio - a feud that they honestly wouldn't have much trouble stretching to a WrestleMania match, between the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber.

Or it could lead to Dashing Cody Rhodes becoming some sort of sinister, sadistic heel, obsessed with ruining others' faces as his has been ruined.

Oh, I think they're going to amp up the gimmick. I think he's going to get a face shield and continue on with the "Dashing" gimmick. Cody can talk, so this will have a ton of promise.
