I just met him with some of my friends at the airport & he refused to sign in blue ink or marker.
Weird!
*sorry, small & random yet funny post*

No...no I don't.
Like I said...he just refuses.
Buddy of mine went to hand him a marker to sign with & he said he doesn't sign with blue.

Blue and orange are complementary colors. Therefore blue is his mortal enemy.

I don't know that I'd refuse to sign if I were in his spot, but I absolutely despise blue pens. I'll always look for a black one if I can find one, and use blue as a last resort. Is this some kind of...thing?

Actually, a lot of celebrities refuse to sign autographs with blue pens. I don't recall the exact logic behind this, but I believe it has something to do with being easier to make forgeries of.

Maybe it stems from being a kid and being grossed out by the smell of a blueberry-scented marker.

It'll be to do with football (soccer to you crazy folk over the pond)
Traditionally, Irish folk support either Man United, who play in Red, their rivals play in blue, Man City and Chelsea. Liverpool, who's rivals Everton play in blue. Or Celtic, who's rival Rangers, play in blue.
Craig Bellamy refuses to sign Rangers stuff :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRgufpRjFf4

Makes me think of him starring as Fletcher Reed in Liar Liar, trying to convince himself that the pen is red, fella.

This is the truth. I collect autographs and this is pretty much a standard, while I have a few legitimate ones in blue, they aren't common at all. It should be noted, though, on Sheamus' WWE autograph card in the Topps 2010 set, he signed in blue. Everyone else did too, though. Those are manufactured autographs over encounters, so that could be the difference maker.

Must be a new thing, he signed in blue for me a few months back.
Yea basically blue ink lasts longer than black ink, thus it retains its value longer
