Bit late, I know but I don't think there has been a topic like this yet.
RAW was particularly good for most of the year. They limited the Guest Host and comedy skits and the start of the year with the return of Bret and the buildup to Wrestlemania with Cena/Batista, HBK/Taker and Bret/Vince in particular being phenomenally entertaining, so much that I'm not sure they'll be able to top it this year because there aren't that many marquee matches left. After that, we had one of the best moments in years with the Nexus debut and the Nexus/Cena angle was really well done up until the firing. The show has also built new stars a lot more than it did last year, with Sheamus, Barrett and Miz.
Smackdown, I can't really say the same for. The match quality was good but most of the matches were no more than that. The show was bland for most of the year and it seemed like the writers phoned it in most of the time. During the buildup to Wrestlemania, all of the really big feuds were on RAW and Edge/Jericho wasn't particularly booked that well and after the draft where they lost a lot of star power, the show became even less interesting. The Swagger title reign that came out of nowhere and the long Kane title reign didn't really interest me. I'm glad Kane finally got a proper title reign and the Kane/Taker feud revived my interest in it a little bit but that didn't even get a proper conclusion in the end and after that, I wasn't a fan of the rest of the reign. The show also got some of the dumb RAW stuff, the Hornswoggle skits for example.
The PPVs. I thought it was a decent year for them. A lot won't stand out in the future but there weren't many that were outright bad. There were a lot of solid shows and two or three really good ones, like Wrestlemania, HIAC and TLC.
Anyway, I'd give them a B- overall. I enjoyed the year, mainly because RAW was the best it had been in years.
