I was thinking how cool it would be for Undertaker to go Streak vs Streak at WrestleMania for his last match. There has never been anyone else with a really major undefeated streak at WrestleMania. I think it would have been a smart move to orchestrate another undefeated streak at least for a number of WrestleManias for this purpose.
If someone else was to have a streak, who would have made sense? Cena? Big Show? No one?

RVD is undefeated at WrestleMania I believe.
Hogan has his Summerslam streak but that would be a little hard to put against The Mania streak for obvious reasons.

Edge had a little streak going before WM23. Then he had a streak at Summer Slam which was ended as well. Oh Edge.

Don't you remember? After this past WrestleMania, Miz said he was only 17 away from tying The Undertaker! Then again, he lost his Wrestlemania debut to the Colóns in that match where the tag titles were unified. I guess that's a tough outcome to ignore. |

It wasn't on the PPV...it was a pre-show match. Hence, it doesn't count towards the record. Kinda like how WrestleMania IX didn't count for Tito Santana. |

Probably because the WWE has suffered from parity booking the last 10 years, and this basically eliminates every chance for a guy to put together a winning streak. We wouldn't want anything to usurp attention away from The Undertaker, do we?

You know what's sad, I predicted Edge and Orton would both pull down the briefcase at the same time at Wrestlemania 23, just so the WWE could do Edge vs Taker, streak vs streak for the World Title at Wrestlemania 24. I was able to get the fact they faced each other for the World Title, correct, but not both of them being undefeated. |

Edge had a streak till he lost MitB at WM23. He lost to Taker the following year, and I'm pretty sure that Edge said that his streak was still intact because he had never been pinned or submitted.
