This is the primary question: If they wanted to emphasize "brand warfare", why was it that they used pretty much every SmackDown! main-eventer not named "Undertaker" or "Randy Orton" in that match, and even their world champion, but RAW only had Shawn Michaels and Edge, and didn't even bother using John Cena for that match?
Kinda made the whole thing look lopsided... like how the fued was booked.

I always though that the death of Eddie Guerrero messed things up for that PPV.

I'm assuming that Orton would have been Champ by Survivor Series and defended against Taker but of course plans changed after Eddie's death.
Can't think who else Orton could have defended against since Batista was already on Team Smackdown! too.

Can't think who else Orton could have defended against since Batista was already on Team Smackdown! too. Let's not forget that Orton was originally going to be champ because of the injury Batista sustained (torn lat) from the double chokeslam of Kane and Big Show. Batista decided to work through it, and therefore Orton was kinda hung out to dry. That HIAC at Armageddon IIRC was going to be a WHC match with Orton/Taker.
