I think people are upset because the guy created a compelling character in Dr. Stevie that was jettisoned for a COMPANY CHANGING ANGLE that amounted to absolutely nothing.
It's not like he wasn't used and quit, it's that he was used badly over a prolonged period, then quit after a meeting with Vince Russo.

Cutting talent like Taylor Wilde, Raven, Sabu, Sandman ect. saves money because they had their time of use and were not being used so why spend money on something you get no return on? On the other hand, there are those who they are using but getting absolutely no return on...

I could honestly see Stevie as being the guy WWE would pick to be the new Al Snow for Tough Enough, if he wanted the spot. He was around the company forever, been around the business forever, has been in all the major companies, is good in most aspects. He could also teach them how to try to get over when they inevitably end up wrestling on the C show.

I like any company that has Stevie Richards hanging around it. This makes me sad.

A few matches in ROH on the horizon? Has he ever wrestled for them before?
Either way, its not like he was doing much after the whole EV2/Hardcore Justice thing, as much as I like him.

Wonder if Tommy Dreamer going to quit in protest since that the reason why he left WWE; the big mean company fired all his friends and killed off ECW? Hey if Dreamer does quit, ROH can always do an even more watered down version of an ECW reunion PPV. They'd have to do without RVD and Joey Styles but they could pull it off if they get Sandman, Raven, Sabu, The Franchise, etc. Call it ROH's Extreme Last Stand. Hell if they can get Heyman to show we'll finally get to see Cornette vs Heyman in a one on one match. And it least this reunion could actually be done at the Arena.

Yeah, he actually did a few shows for them in 2005 while he was still with WWE. I don't really remember what he did, or how many, but I know he got permission from WWE to do something with ROH.

Stevie was a very solid worker who had charisma pouring out of him. No matter what he was doing, people usually connected with him. He could be of great use passing that on to younger guys

Wonder if Tommy Dreamer going to quit in protest since that the reason why he left WWE; the big mean company fired all his friends and killed off ECW? Tommy: Dammit, Dixie, you let ANOTHER one of my friends go? This is exactly why I left WWE.... Dixie: Have we mentioned that we added another zero to your paycheck, Tommy? Tommy: Well, ya know, I never did much like Stevie anyways, he was always more Raven's friend than mine... the sad part is the extra zero was added after the decimal point

Well having a meeting with Vince Russo would make anyone want to quit.

You guys DO know the difference between fire and quit, right? People are frustrated that he would want to quit, due to where he was with the roster. That's the issue at hand. Also my two pennies are as follows: Lots of posters in here who may complain(not indictating just this thread but the forum on the whole) also may complain about them needing to save money and how much money they spent versus how much of a return they get. That said a wrestler voluntarily leaving saves money. Cutting talent like Taylor Wilde, Raven, Sabu, Sandman ect. saves money because they had their time of use and were not being used so why spend money on something you get no return on? I don't get how it saves that much money in the long run, cutting talent from the bottom. Especially since these people were on night to night deals and weren't being paid to sit at home.

As a proud owner of a bWo shirt, I'm sad to hear he's left TNA but they weren't using him anyway.
His Dr. Stevie gimmick was interesting and could have lasted longer imo. His involvement with EV2 was nice to see as well. I really didn't know he was still with TNA though.
I could see him going back to WWE. Especially with TE starting back up.

I thought the Dr Stevie deal with Daffney was good. They made a good team, like Crowbar and Daffney. Too bad they dropped that gimmick.

I've always been a Stevie mark and I loved his pre EV2.0 stuff in TNA but, as much as I hate to lose Stevie from televised wrestling, it's for the best. Dude could not catch a break once .... well,
