I need to vent about this. The concussion angle is seriously starting to bug me. I love both Matt Morgan and Anderson so I’m glad they are getting more screen time, but this needs to go somewhere new or end. I feel as if I‘m watching the exact same episode every single week:
Flair/Bischoff: Anderson will wrestle! Morgan/Foley/everyone else: You’re not okay! Anderson: I’m fine! Morgan/Foley/everyone else: Concussions are bad! Anderson: I’m fine! I don’t expect anything groundbreaking, but I need something different.
It’s terrible, but at this point I really don’t care if Anderson (kayfabe wise) decides to wrestle with his concussion or not. There’s only so many times you can give someone advice. If they don’t follow it, that’s on them. I liked the angle at first, but now I spend half the time annoyed that Anderson wont follow the advice and the other half annoyed that Morgan wont butt out after so many weeks.

While this angle is current as far as legit sports go, I have had problems enjoying it for the same reason. The Morgan/Anderson match at Genisis should be good and will advance the overall story with Hardy and Immortal but this one as far as the spice of the story goes, is hard for me to like. This is a legitimate issue about the dangers of head trauma in sports but taking this as far as they have is IMO, sort of cheap sympathy

I agree it's starting to go on for too long, hopefully the concussion part of the storyline ends after Genesis.

I also agree. It's getting very repetitive.

I agree that it feels like they jumped into it a week or two too early, and have to keep repeating the same thing.
HOWEVER... if I'm reading it right, and they're doing what I think they're doing, it's kind of necessary. I like how they're pushing Anderson as saying "I'm fine, I'm fine," when he's obviously not - keeps selling the head shots as being far more damaging to him than normal. Doing this for a couple of weeks really sells us, the viewer, on the idea that Morgan is getting frustrated, but remains concerned for his fellow wrestler. Keeps his guard down just a little... so that at Genesis, Anderson can sell that head trauma one more time, really hard, and Morgan lets his guard down again. All of a sudden, BAM - Anderson hits him with something (does he have an "out of nowhere" move like a cutter/RKO?), catches Morgan off-guard, and beats him.
Anderson's response? "Hey, I'm an asshole!" Explains that he's been medically cleared for weeks, JUST LIKE HE'S BEEN SAYING, though he was intentionally vague about it and "sold" the injury to Morgan to keep him feeling sympathetic.
Tell me that's not gold.

I thought this story line was idiotic from the beginning and its got nothing to do with "controversial concussion storylines."
Anderson, as far as I know, is over 18 and not mentally handicapped.
He can make his own decisions about whether he can wrestle or not (kayfaybe speaking).
Matt Morgan is no one's daddy so he just comes off as someone who's sticking his nose in someone else's business. No one's asking Morgan to wrestle with a concussion. They're asking Anderson.
If Anderson says "yes," then Morgan should just shut up and go back to kicking guys in the head so hard they end up in Mexico.

Oh yeah I forgot to ask. Why exactly do Mick Foley and Flair have anything to do with this angle? I mean I know their verbal joust was about Anderson and his condition, I get that but if they are not in the match what does it do for the angle?

Remember that Morgan was in Fourtune until he started speaking up about the concussion, and Flair got all pissy with him for leaving because of it, thinking he was overreacting. As for Foley, he's in it because of the Flair history and the concussion history.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Sorry, but I just had to put that out there. ;D
