Move out of your top five, then what are you looking at? Also, remember, one download of a 360 game is usually several pirates, since they flash the game onto a drive and make multiple copies. There are people that make and sell pirated 360s for cash. Well it isn't my top five, it is TorrentFreak's top five, and that's all they listed. Also, considering the 5th title on the PC list has over 3 million downloads, unless there is a massive drop off, most of the Top 10 for the PC is probably over 1 million downloads. Face it man, no matter how you try to spin it, the PC is the most pirated gaming platform. The 360 is the most pirated non-PC platform, that much you can say, but to try and say the PC isn't the dubious #1 is, well, a little bit naive.

RDR was hugely story driven. That was probably what saved that game from getting so repetitive, the fact that they made John, and the guys he encountered, really interesting and made you pull or hate them. On saying that, I gtot GTA4 after RDR, expecting more of the same, and instead found dull characters I couldnt care less about in scenerios where, frankly, alot of the time I didnt want to help them. Traded that. But clearly GTA is the bigger of the two games and still has that 'highest rated' tagline, so you may be right that Noire wont do quite as huge numbers. While you are right that RDR has a heavy amount of story, you could still basically go"GTA in the wild west" doing random s*** and there was still plenty of "pew, pew, pew" action in it. L.A. Noire is putting the action into the backseat for the most part, the story in the game is being presented as its strongest part and main focus. Hell it doesn't even have online. It is the first Rockstar game on the HD gaming systems without online. Let's be honest here, a good chunk of people, if not the majority, bought RDR because it looked like GTA in the wild west. It obviously isn't, but that would only be clear to those who bothered with the story. I still think L.A. Noire will sell well, just the overall lack of action and no online will turn away most of the mainstream gamers. If you look into the details, in terms of side missions and things, Noire is just GTA set in the 20s. Online will turn up later, costing you extra.

Just talked to a guy at my local GameStop today, and he was saying that they've REALLY been hit hard by the PSN outage on the sales of SOCOM4, and his store is considering some sort of incentive program to move those units.
What they would DO, he couldn't say. But he said sales of that title were so bad, and they've moved so few of those units in his store that they're definitely considering SOMETHING.

I think the dude at your GameStop was misinformed, or that was just location specific. NPD didn't track sales of the game and the Move bundle together, but they did mention that if you tracked both SKUs together, Socom 4 was a top 10 game. Of course, releasing it on the same day as MK and Portal 2 was a bonehead move too...

Of course that's not counting in the copies bundled with Move, like you said. But it has suffered for sure. Both from the PSN outage and releasing against two of the year's best games(one of which currently IS the year's best game).

Speaking of bonehead moves, I picked up DC Universe Online the week that the PSN Network went down and no one was told until later. Luckily, I never logged in and played that week before the network went down, or I'd almost be out of that first free month they offer.

Mass Effect on 360 had lower sales than that for it's first period.

Question (non-online related, again)
If you hadn't played any of these games and had them all in front of you waiting to get started, which would you suggest going with first?
Grand Theft Auto 4, Bioshock, Arkham Asylum, Resistance, Resident Evil 5, or Silent Hill: Homecoming?
I know they're all very different, but I'm not in a specific mood so I just want the best overall game really.

I've played Arkham, Resistance, and Resident Evil 5 on the PS3, and it all depends on what you're in the mood for. But it's always fun to don the cape and cowl of Batman and kick some ass.

Mass Effect on 360 had lower sales than that for it's first period. gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/35670/socom-4-us-navy-seals/Look at the recorded numbers for the game in its first 3 weeks. It came out the gate really strong, then....it just dropped off. HARD. First week it sold just under 200,000 copies, second week(after the outage started) its sales dropped off 75% to a few copies under 46,000. Again this isn't including the Move bundles with SOCOM 4, just the stand alone version, but even then, that isn't good. Also, you are kinda wrong with Mass Effect. In Mass Effect's first week in the US, it sold nearly as many copies as SOCOM 4 has sold in the US in its first 3 weeks. Hell to put it like this, ME's first 3 weeks total 561,447 copies sold, SOCOM 4's first 3 weeks in the US total 261,729 copies sold. ME's first 3 weeks totals are double that of SOCOM 4's first 3 weeks totals. I mean you can't seriously tell me a 75% drop off from week 1 to week 2 doesn't tell us that the game is suffering from the PSN outage.

But...but...that's how the hackers got back into the system. Sony just keeps making head scratching decisions with this entire process.

But, I'm a whore for the GTA games, even tho I wasn't a huge fan of IV.
