My vote goes to Capcom. The Megaman series, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, vs. Capcom games, Final Fight, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Legend Of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons and Minish Cap, Breath of Fire, Super Ghouls n Ghosts, Phoenix Wright, Devil May Cry, and Dead Rising...
And that's just the games that I can think of from the top of my head. It seems like they can do every genre flawlessly. So what do you guys think is the best 3rd Party Developer? Did I make a glaring mistake by leaving off a great developer?

I don't play modern games, but I've liked a lot of Capcom and Konami's output.
Square-Enix is good if you like console-style RPGs, but I don't.
If Interplay was an option, I might have gone for them. The used to handle the Baulder's Gate and Fallout series until they went out of business.
Blizzard makes some really good games, but they don't put out stuff nearly as often as other companies. I really enjoy Diablo 1 & 2, but Diablo 3 looks awful, IMO (Way too much like world of Warcraft).

Valve, they make nothing that is close to bad. They may release few things, but they make sure to polish the hell out of everything that goes out the door. And I say this as some one who isn't a fan of their past attitudes.
My favorite though is Konami, Capcom, Insomniac and Naughty Dog.

Square-Enix gets my vote, for sure. I cut my RPG teeth on the first Dragon Quest and the first Final Fantasy, and I've been a die-hard fan of the companies (then company) ever since.

I'll go with Capcom as well, for all of the reasons mentioned above. With Square-Enix and Konami coming in tied for a close second.

Valve, everything they produce is just incredible.

Not for nothing, but most of those are publishers, not developers. Yes a lot of them have development studios in them, but, for example, Capcom isn't a developer. Just a publisher.

I want to say Capcom, but with the way they've become with DLC, a lot of my respect for them is dead and gone.
I think I'm gonna go with Konami here. Because I can't really find another company on this list I have to rack my brain to find a game they've made I don't like.

Well I suppose since I already pointed out that some of the options aren't even developers, I guess I should answer the poll.
Out of the actual developers listed on the poll(which would be Bungie, BioWare, and Blizzard), I'd have to go with Blizzard. Their track record is amazing.
As for my overall opinion, Valve. Easily Valve.

It was close call for me between Konami and Square-Enix... but the Silent Hill series alone made my vote go to Konami.

I THINK Capcom developed all of the games that I mentioned. I know that sometimes they will publish games that were developed by other companies, but I'm almost 100% they developed stuff like Megaman and Resident Evil. If I'm wrong, who developed those games?

I'm going w/ Bioware, I haven't played a single game they made that I didn't love.

Capcom has in house developers, but, like quite a few Japanese game publishers, these in house studios mostly don't have names.

Eat Sleep and Play they have David Jaffe the guy knows how to make games (Although they are signed to Sony for their next 3 games so that might make them second party)
