Eric Bischoff presents
Eric's Explanations
I’m Eric Bischoff and this is Eric’s Explanations. In Jason X, the tenth movie of that franchise, Jason went to space and the future, donned a new mask, and made many fans groan. For my tenth episode, I’m not going to be as adventurous. I’ll talk about the new talent I saw at a recent TNA house show, talk with Sting, who will be headlining Bound for Glory against Samoa Joe for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and I’ll wrap it up by reviewing my ppv predictions and announcing our sweepstakes winner in Let Your Voice Be Heard.
But first, the house show.
For those of you who can’t recall, I’m looking to be a manager. Not for any existing talent that already are earning shots for titles, but for a rookie, trying to get their foot in the door. As I’ve been saying, I’m looking for some new blood that wants to become a top star in TNA’s future.
At the recent house show at Mobile, Alabama I finally got to see many of TNA’s new talents in their first matches in a TNA wrestling ring.
At this event, I saw Mark Haskins pull out a victory over Jesse Godderz by pulling the tights in a close contest, as well as, the team of Zema Ion and Jesse Sorensen come out victorious against El Zorro and Anthony Nese, in a very competitive bout that, dare I say, tore the house down.
To keep it short and sweet, I’ve heard from most of you guys already through either Facebook messages or email, asking, or in a few cases, demanding that I be their manager. Let me be the first to reassure you guys, I’m watching, and I’m definitely interested. Keep impressing me with more wins, or bounce back from this week’s loss and I could definitely see myself as a manager for any of you.
Now for a clever segue, we go from the bright stars of the future in TNA to the greatest icon presently in TNA.
We heard Joe speak about him; I think we’re all waiting for a response.
So, without further ado, the man who will be facing Samoa Joe at Bound for Glory, JB give him a proper introduction.
Your special guest, from Venice Beach, California, weighing 250 pounds, “The Icon” Sting!
Welcome Sting, first off, congratulations on your victories, first over the tandem of Matt Morgan and Scott Steiner, and then later against D’Angelo Dinero. So very simply…
How's it feel to be main eventing Bound for Glory?
Well Eric, it's three years since my last main event, so to be back there again is quite the thrill.
But I need to thank the man who was instrumental in getting me to this point. D'Angelo Dinero. Without him, who knows what would've happened. If I'd been paired with someone like Brutus Magnus or Tommy Dreamer, who knows if I would have made it out of round one, let alone to the finals.
So thank you D'Angelo. It was an honor.
You two definitely were a great team. But thinking back between you and Dinero, we can remember you attacked him. That all goes back to your cryptic messages. Are you willing to give a little more insight now?
Well Eric, there's not really much I can tell you. What I will say is that The Higher Power has a plan and when he's ready, that plan will be revealed to the masses.
Hmm. Guess I'll just have to be patient. Before you go: Any words for Samoa Joe?
Joe, do you remember three years ago? Bound For Glory 2008? Do you remember that night? It was the night your first TNA Championship reign came to an end.
Three years later, the scenario is almost exactly the same. You as the Champion, me as the veteran trying to prove he still belongs in the main event. But one thing has changed, Joe.
I don't have anything to prove to you. I already know I can beat you. So I get to enter this match free of any and all stress. Because you're the one who has to prove something, Joe.
You've never beaten me before, buddy. October seventh. You got what it takes?
*Sting walks off the set*
Once again, that was The Icon, and number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Sting. Back in the Bound for Glory main event after a three year wait. We heard him say some words to Joe, who knows we might hear a response on Impact.
Now its time for the grand finale. Let Your Voice Be Heard. In honor of this being our tenth episode, I will answer TEN questions!
*murmuring in Eric’s earpiece*
Oh, no?
*murmur continues*
Okay, my bad. Scratch that folks. We’ll be sticking to the traditional three format.
Tonight’s first comment comes from NYman24. He says:
Austin Aries was Homicide! Daffney takes a slice at Madison’s neck! Mickie is back! What do feel was the biggest surprise of the night?
Hmm. Well everything you said can, and most likely will, have huge implications. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived has to have his eyes set on Kendrick and his X-Division Championship. Daffney and Taylor getting taken away and Madison needing to be taken out in an ambulance leaves a huge hole in the Knockouts Division, however Mickie is definitely a huge enough star to fill that hole.
Was that a fat joke?
No. Does it look like I have a death wish?
But as for my shocking moment of the night, how about the Phenomenal Angels nearly gaining tag gold? Daniels and Styles reunited, and damn were they smooth against the champs. They were screwed over, and I know I, as well as several other fans, would love to see them get another shot.
The next comment comes from @alexgonzales. They tweeted:
So… suicide.
@alexgonzales, Kept it short and sweet, huh? As for your tweet, I have no idea what you are getting at. But once again, I would like to thank Suicide for saving me at No Surrender. Wherever you are Dark Savior, thanks. *chuckles*
Tonight’s final question comes from Sharktopus. Sharktopus commented:
@tnaericbischoff I got all of the matches correct! Did I win?
Unfortunately Sharktopus, nope.
For my predictions, I ended up going 6/9 only screwing up by picking Doug Williams, who put up a good fight, Leather and Lace, who weren't able to reclaim the knockout tag titles, and um, well, myself. I should’ve listened to you all, when over 93% of you chose Shatter. And I have to think some of that 7% was just kissing up.
Over 2500 predictions were sent in, and 361 of you got the ppv 100% correct. So I threw all your names into the random number sorter and randomly chose the number 23 after watching some Jim Carrey movie. Number 23 was DISCO_INFERNO_FOREVER!!! . So congrats DISCO_INFERNO_FOREVER!!!, as you have won a signed copy of Controversy Creates Cash, the No Surrender t-shirt, and the No Surrender DVD. Just do me a favor, and skip most of my match, at least until Suicide showed up.
As always, this is Eric Bischoff, signing off. Tune in to TNA Impact 9-19 5:00 EST and stay tuned for another edition of Eric’s Explanations, following Impact, exclusively on TNA.com
