One of the best side scrollers ever! I used to spend hours playing the series on my mega drive/genesis when i was younger...great soundtrack too!! I still watch the intro on youtube for memories...awesome melody! My cartridge with Streets Of Rage, Golden Axe and Revenge Of Shinobi was like gold to me I remember there being talk of a movie based on it for years back in the 90's...shame one never got made! What are your thought on the SOR series?

I love the first 2 games but I don't remember the third. I remember a lot of people loved to play as the roller blade guy but I never understood why.

I used to always prefer adam because of his high kicks....then down the line became a fan of adam as he looked like a cheesy 80's undercover cop..and his hobby was video games lol...old skool!!!

One of the primary reasons I bought Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in the first place. I have beaten SoR2 many times, but I've only gotten to the elevator level in SoR1, but I might get farther eventually. I did get far and beat the game once a long time ago, but it was on a ROM on a modded game console, so I don't know if that counts, especially with the amount of lives I had.
However, SoR3, I have only gotten to the warehouse level. Never got past that. I did like how you could unlock Shiva and Roo as playable characters.

Love that game.
So much fun to play with someone, whether it was working together, or just screwing each other over by 'accidentally' hitting them with a pipe repeatedly.
Busted it out and played it with my friend last year, still as much fun as it was back then.

Haha..yeah i remember the 'accidental' hits lol...soon as you did it once we would always try and get your partner back....then you'd be taking sneaky shots at each other throughout the game I also turned on my partner to join the big boss when we 1st played...i loved the chance to turn heel in a game

I love all 3 games (though 1 is a few notches below 2 and 3, for me). Very fun, games. I wish I had gotten SOR remake before it got taken down.

It's a must for me to bring up this song whenever SoR is mentioned.

My favorite final stage music:
Also, you can't help but think that this song was badass for a semi-final boss:

I’m glad the second game is a part of the free month of playstation plus.
It was also incredibly stupid of Sega to release a streets of rage edition of their portable blaze console and only include 1&3.

My dad and I used to play the first one a lot.
We'd always turn on each other in the final level for the favour of Mr. X.

1 was a good start to the series, 2 improved the graphics and the gameplay and was very enjoyable, 3 was kinda more of the same with some tweaks and multiple endings.
No love for SOR 3's music?? A bizarrely awesome soundtrack. These 3 were the best songs, IMO:
