I watched it today and thought it was brilliant. I don't care about timelines and the like, I see this as a separate timeline to the other films so they can re-write it as they see fit.
One thing bothered me though. There is a scene in the trailer where Magneto is walking down a corridor and he makes a guard stab himself with his own knife. I didn't see that in the film.

Finally saw it. I liked it and thought the random casting of Kevin Bacon was hilarious. {Spoiler}1. Was the beginning from X Men 1 or a reenactment?
2. That guy in the Pentagon looked a lot like President Duggan from Red Alert 2.
3. If Charles was paralyzed at the end, how the hell could he walk in the Wolverine movie?
4. Was the girl with the white hair in the Cerebro scene Storm? Also, any talk yet of a sequel? On spoiler note number 2, thats because it was him. He's also the guy who played Satan in the awesome Reaper series. And as soon as he popped up I did mark out to ridiculous proportions.

I just read on Wikipedia that Zoe Kravitz (Angel) used to date Ben Foster (Archangel in X-Men 3) Yeah, useless fact, I know, but I thought it was interesting. Also, everyone who's not Kevin Bacon in this movie now has "1 Degree" Edit: I'm practicing for a job writing those trivia things before the movie starts

Yeah, that scene was in the trailer. I was disappointed that they didn't include it in the film. That was one scene that I was looking forward to seeing too.

Watching this made me wonder how Vaughn would've done an X3? Don't get me wrong, he made an amazing X-Men film in my opinion. Now we're left wondering "What if" he hadn't left the production of X3. There were a couple of scenes where I literally choked up as they were brilliantly acted and the music fit the situation. {Spoiler}When Charles keeps repeating that he can't feel his legs. It was a heartbreaking, epic, and beautiful moment as the camera allows the viewer to get a glimpse of the destruction and the X-Men trying to comfort Charles. {Spoiler}Another scene that made me choke up not because of it was sad but it was brilliant in general. When Magneto gets his revenge on Shaw. It was a fitting end and you related to Magneto's situation.
