I am hearing unconfirmed reports of a fatality here.
Guys, stop. Seriously now. It's hockey. NO ONE should DIE as the result of a win or loss.

The scary thing is this is tame compared to how some countries would react to a major soccer loss.

You know, I'm kinda surprised these drunken jackasses didn't jump the gun and start rioting when the B's were up 3-0 at the end of the second period.

Before the series began, ESPN made such a big deal over a Vancouver Pizza place called Boston Pizza was changing its name to Vancouver Pizza for the series.
That seems so long ago, now.

Did any of you see when that guy almost died on live tv when he fell on top of a flaming BMW? Yes. I could not believe that he even tried that, let alone what happened.

Did any of you see when that guy almost died on live tv when he fell on top of a flaming BMW? Not watching the feed, I just... can't. I hate it when people are reduced to this. Plus, living in LA, I lived through the riots following Rodney King and the ruckus after a few Lakers championships. Thanks, seen enough human depravity in my life.

I remember the 1996 Ohio State/Michigan game in Columbus. Ohio State was a heavy favourite and still lost to Michigan. People inside the stadium were throwing stuff at John Cooper and on campus were burning couches and tossing cars with Michigan plates. Basically when there is a team where people care a whole lot and results don't go there way, people will take it out.

But, I do remember the Shaq/Kobe Laker championship riots and they were no where near this bad.

Because theyre f***ing idiots. Coming from England, where football hooliganism is the national pastime, it annoys me to the point of migraine.

I have trouble understanding why people even watch sports on a weekly (or nightly) basis given there's not much variety to be had, so rioting is just ridiculous.
Especially when you consider people take these teams so damn seriously when a lot of the guys on the team aren't even from a given town.

And this was the LOSING team. I hate to put up a stereotype, but I am honestly surprised to see Canadians behaving this way. 4-0 stinks, but does not warrant this response. On the other hand, thank goodness the USA DID lose the gold medal, otherwise Canada might have burned like Atlanta. These people do not represent Canada. Don't judge the majority based on the minority.
