tv.ign.com/articles/117/1175313p1.htmlIGN just launched the first part of a multipart series previewing the new ThunderCats cartoon launching the fall on CN. I had no freakin' clue this was in the works, but I'm psyched!! Especially because I've been watching alot of the old ThunderCats cartoon on Teletoon Retro lately. Thoughts? Criticisms? Rabble rabble they changed stuff rabble?

Not a fan of the franchise, but yeah. This has been in the works for several years now.

Yeah, this has been in the works for a while. There're even tons of pictures for the toy lines that will accompany it.
Anyways, I'm optimistic, but some of the design choices (especially Panthro's) bug me.

Yup we had a thread a few months where we debated the character changes. I think most people were agin' it, but I don't recall.

This has been making the rounds for a year or two now....I'll believe it when I see it.

But of course, being Canadians, we'll have to wait for it. I mean, Young Justice STILL hasn't hit TV screens in Canada.

I certainly think the new Snarf looks better:

I certainly think the new Snarf looks better: And best of all, this one won't talk.

I hope the new series will follow in the old series footsteps of ignoring physics and logic at every turn.

Yup we had a thread a few months where we debated the character changes. I think most people were agin' it, but I don't recall. It's a relaunch of a nostalgic series, right? Of course they were against changing it in any way.

Of course they were against changing it in any way. Indeed. The Snarf thing has me thinking though, if they're not gonna have him talk, what's the point? I mean yeah, he was annoying as hell; but if he's just some sorta pet, why include him at all?

I certainly think the new Snarf looks better: That is MUCH better. Especially if it doesn't talk.

I think this looks pretty good, actually, which is a massive improvement over the original...but that's 'cause I hated the original.
Really dig the new designs.

yep. Larry Kenney (voice of Lion-O) has already recorded the first episode. He will be voicing Claudus (Lion-O's father)
I think I may be the only one who is behind Panthro's new look. In the original cartoon he was portrayed as a creature with Brute strength. But his look never really told us that because he was the same size as the other Thundercats. I like making the cats different sizes. I'm really interested in seeing the mutants. Especially Slythe and Monkian
Also. Snarf is more than just a pet. He's Lion-O's guardian. He actually saves the day a few times in the old cartoon.

Well, Lion-O looks 10X better, I'll give it that.
