So I've made it clear many times that I enjoy current pop music, it's fun, harmless, and enjoyable for the most part. But after seeing a news segment on Britney Spears "big comeback", I felt like making this thread because I really have nothing better to do ;D
I respect her ability to make recover from her mental breakdown a few years ago, but everybody puts her on a pedestal that is so undeserving it's not even funny. We're talking about a chick who doesn't and has never (as far as I know) written her own songs, has her voice corrected beyond recognition in the studio (although to be fair, she's far from the only one), and never sings live. Hell, truth be told nobody really knows if she can sing at all. This is a woman who has based an entire career around the one thing that ruined Milli-Vanilli's.
She has some good songs, but is it really a "comeback" for her to come back and lip-sync other people's songs? How do you feel about her?

Eh, I don't really care anymore. Even if she does get back into good shape, she's never going to match how hot she was back in the day, no matter how hard she tries.

She gave us Kevin Federline, and for that I will always be grateful.

Never cared for her, there's always been much, much more talented pop stars then her. Christina Aguliera for example has 100X the talent that Britney does, same goes for Lady Gaga.

Actually, I have, for as long as I can remember, been a closet Britney fan. I hated her initially when she came out with "Baby One More Time" but that song quickly grew on me and so did she. I have found a lot of her music catchy, and I still do like her nowadays. I still remember when I was in high school, people around me always talked bad about her but I always kept it to myself that I was a fan. Only so few knew that I liked her. I have had a crush on her ever since her debut. Sure, she may have had her issues and such, but I never stopped liking her, and still, I kept my interest in her a secret for the most part. I even own her video game "Britney's Dance Beat" which is actually a fun rhythm/dancing game, as well as her movie "Crossroads." That movie right there is one of my all-time guilty pleasures in movies.

I never really cared. She looked good when I was 12.
She doesn't look bad, per se, but beyond her looks, I really don't have any opinion.

She sang live on SNL and did pretty well I thought, for whatever that is worth.

I do not care about her music, but I find her attractive. And I am glad that she got over her mental breakdown, mostly because I always find it very sad if someone dies way too early.

She has the occasional song that I enjoy and still looks good. Not really much else to say.

Perfect stooge for record companies. I still don't understand why people found her attractive.

I think she is very underrated as a performer and as a musician. Been a fan for a while, hated the stuff she did with Madonna. Glad to see she is making a comeback and I think her new album is the best work she's done since her early career and she looks absolutely stunning now.

At her peak this quote from George Harrison summed her up nicely: "The best thing about a Britney Spears music video is that you can put it on mute and still enjoy it."
That is paraphrased from some interview he did in 2000 or so.
Now it's like, who cares? Without photoshop she would have flamed out years earlier than she did.
