The Flintstones are a beloved television family, so Seth mcFarlane should stay as far away as possible from them. I would agree, if he didn't have as much of a respect as he does for the original material. If you have that much respect for something, you won't want to screw it up, so I think it is alright in his hands. I don't know about that. Remember how much respect Frank Miller supposedly had for the The Spirit and how people went on about how he was a close friend of Will Eisner?

Eh, it\\\'s not as if the Flintstones wasn\\\'t always corny as hell anyway.
Yeah, it\\\'s a classic, it\\\'s iconic, etc, but it\\\'s not exactly Shakespeare or anything; it\\\'s mostly rock puns.
And at any rate, the originals are still there; not as if they will be replaced or anything.

Oh HELL no! No, just, no. And not just because it is Seth being the executive producer of a Flintstones reboot that has his style of comedy thrown into it, but because this might be what kills American Dad! for good. Fox, unless they expand their Animation Domination block, only has space for 4 shows, and we know two of them will be The Simpsons and Family Guy. This means, not including Bob's Burgers and the upcoming Napoleon Dynamite cartoon, Seth has 3 series fighting for the remaining two perennial spots. We can establish that one of those is, for now, this Flintstones reboot, meaning it is going to be between The Cleveland Show and American Dad! for which one gets the final perennial slot. And odds are, it won't be the only consistently good show Animation Domination has had the last few years, damn it...... The only way Seth can save this is if the comedy they use in this Flintstones reboot is like American Dad! and not like Family Guy.... Wait a minute! Napoleon Dynamite cartoon? What the f*** ?

If it doesn't have a simple color scheme and whores, he doesn't pay attention.

Wow. I think that Napoleon Dynamite cartoon sounds like an even worse idea than this Flintstones thing.

This is a terrible, terrible idea. I've heard worse. Seriously, the animation costs could bite them, but at least it's a proven license, and it's not like anyone's been doing anything with it. And if it fails? Hell, they'd probably make a bundle on DVDs of the original series. You know, the "pure" one that slapped a new label on the Honeymooners and hawked cigarettes.
