Not seen it. But here is a Box Office report from Australia: Last week both Thor and Fast 5 (Renamed to Fast and Furious 5 here, yeah movie distributors do that here. They assume we are a nation of morons) opened up. And Fast 5 beat Thor for #1 spot by two million dollars. Don't like to say it but: Bogans beat out the Geeks here

Speaking of geeks...peeps who saw this,
Did you catch Han's name on his criminal record?
"Han Seoul-Oh"
Say that aloud. Realize. Laugh and smile. Because I don't think anyone I went with caught that. Amazing geek reference out of nowhere.
It's a bit weird that they went to that length for that joke when he was credited prior as "Han Lue", but whatever. It was never said aloud, so it's forgivable. Han Seoul-Oh is amazing, haha.

I figured with gas prices being the way they are, the mere thought of cars would depress people.

Domestic: $83,630,000 Worldwide: $81,400,000 Total: $165,030,000
Already making a profit, with its budget only being $125 million. It beat Fast & Furious' domestic opening, the perevious highest in the franchise, by $13 million. The domestic opening weekend take beat out Tokyo Drift's entire run by over $20 million.

It was a good start to the summer action season. By the way, apparently something happens after the credits that leads to the next installment.

In case anybody doesn't mind spoilers, or would like to here someone else's thoughts on the movie, Bill Simmons and Adam Carolla do a very good review of the movie on Simmons' podcast, the B.S. Report. Check it out.

We both flipped out. {Spoiler}We both have a weird crush on that chick xD Glad the general consensus on this has been a positive one. Franchise has a lot of haters, and in some ways I kinda get it, but regardless, this was a kick ass film.

I thought the first one was awesome, the 2nd one was OK, I pretend the 3rd one doesn't exist. But apparently the last two films all take place before Tokyo Drift. It should be interesting how they connect everything.

Agreed, the first is a classic in so-bad-it's-good cinema, the second I pretty much dislike, I love the third, fourth was great and should have been the second, and now this one was just...damn.

Report. Check it out. And the latest episode of "How Did This Get Made?" (featuring Paul Scheer and some other dudes) is all about it, too. Haven't listened yet, but it'll be worthwhile.
