I'm sure a lot of you know that there are people all over the internet that claim that they saw a different cut of the original Star Wars in 1977, that included a lot of deleted scenes, such as scenes with Luke and his friends on Tatooine, Luke seeing the space battle through his binoculars, Luke missing one time with his grappling hook on the Death Star, and Luke selling the speeder. There are other scenes people claim to have seen as part of the film in the theater when it first debuted. Lucasfilm denies that any of these scenes existed in any print released, and most people think that people are creating false memories based on these scenes appearing in the novelization and other places.
Anyway, I was mentioning to my brother that these deleted scenes are supposed to be on the Blu-ray as extras, and he claims that he saw at least one of those scenes when he saw it the first time in 1977, the one with Luke and Biggs talking on Tatooine. I'm pretty sure he is confused, as I had a cassette/storybook that I think had a picture of that scene, and he is 17 years older than me, so I'm sure he read it to me as a kid.
I'm interesting in what people here think about this, and if anyone here thinks they saw these scenes in the theater in 1977.

I can clearly remember the scene where Chewie and me were double teaming Leia in the back of the Falcon.

The Luke and Biggs scene I do recall, but only in a behind the scenes thing. I recall watching them film it, but never the actual finished scene.

I think those scenes are like the fabled Big Show moonsault. You hear about them so much, you feel like you MUST have seen it. The mind is a very unreliable thing honestly.

Here's the Luke/Biggs/watching the space battle scen
I highly doubt it ever actually made it into the theaters though. It is a very superfluous scene.

Weren't there supposed to be scenes in ESB where the Rebels had captured several Wampas in the Hoth base, and then let them out as they were escaping the Imperial forces?

The only confirmed non-"Special Edition" change that I'm aware of is that C-3PO's line "The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave." was not in the original 1977 cut.

Weren't there supposed to be scenes in ESB where the Rebels had captured several Wampas in the Hoth base, and then let them out as they were escaping the Imperial forces? Even better, they seal them up in the room (you find a few rooms like that in the Shadows of the Empire game), but what happened was that during the escape C-3PO removed the warning sign off of the door to the room. That meant that the people who released the Wampas on the Stormtroopers were the Stormtroopers themselves as they were searching the base for Rebels.

I believe that was in one draft of ESB. It was a different obviously, like Vader being in a castle and Han needing help from his father. It would have been a cool scene but would have been too expensive with the suits, puppets.

Let me ask you guys this. I am dating myself here, but I am old enough to remember seeing TESB in the theatre. I swear up and down that I remember a short 1-2 second clip of Luke's hand holding a still lit lightsaber falling down the gas collection column immediately after Vader chops it off. I have never seen it since. Does anyone else remember this scene?

I guy I know SWEARS that the kiss between Luke and Leia when they swung over the empty shaft was a lot longer and more passionate. Lucas changed it because it would have been, you know... awkward.
I just chalk it up to him imagining it because of teen hormones.
