So I am looking for a new Digital Compact Camera and by the mega-dinosaur centipedes of yesteryear there are hundreds of the things.
I currently have a very old 2001 Kodak sporting a whopping 3.1 mega pixels (Ooooh ;D ) Which has been excellent but it's time is over.
So what do people recommend digital compact wise? My budget extends to about £350 and I want it for gigs, holidays, nights out and other places where I can't take my SLR.
My knowledge of what is a good zoom, pixels, lens type and the other tech stuff is near nil. Friend has a Canon IXUS which I am impressed by but need more opinions or suggestions.

Just going to update on what I got despite the lack of replies..
I ended up getting a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9V with 16x optical Zoom and it is excellent.
Need a digital compact, buy this one picture quality is stunning.
