Where is this man? Yeah, they needed to nominate THE WHOLE MALE CAST of Modern Family in the Best Supporting actor in a Comedy Series category so Swanson was snubbed. Best comedy character on tv in my opinion, and he's not even nominated. Seriously. It's great to see Parks and Rec gets it's deserved Best comedy nomination, but ignoring the entire cast besides Amy Poehler is just silly. Aubrey Plaza and Chris Pratt deserved nominations too.

No Community or How I Met Your Mother? Yet Modern Family gets FOUR nominations in the SAME category? Stop riding their dick, already!

I'm curious how much they actually watch the shows they nominate, and how much they base it on what they used to like and what the buzz is on.

This may be a controversial opinion, but am I the only one who thinks it is unfair to compare basic network shows, drama or comedy, to shows on cable? Cable shows can get away with a lot more in terms of language and content, which makes the competition unfair.
I would just argue for separate catagories, best network drama or comedy vs. best cable network drama or comedy.
YMMV, of course.

Pumped for Louie CK on scoring a nom, but I agree with the Community outrage. It should be in there, but maybe not at the place of BBT. Perhaps Glee, which had a super weak 2nd season or 30 Rock. BBT's nom is well deserved, but Community needs to be nominated for something. Agreed. Glee wasn't that great this year, and 30 Rock was better than last year; but it doesn't need another Emmy. You could have taken either one of those shows out in favor of Community. Though, I'm kind of glad Joel McHale didn't get nominated. Not because I thought he was bad on Community (he's been great in the role), but because I have a feeling that Steve Carell is gonna win that award simply because he left The Office. I'd rather McHale get nominated and have a chance to win.

30 Rock is an alright show.
30 Rock's 2nd season I'd consider one of the best seasons of a network comedy in the past decade. The Liz Lemon "gonna be my year" story arch was incredible and she really became a character instead of just "tina fey does nerdy boy stuff."
But at this point the show is just coasting off of one-time greatness.

Oh, I agree Chaz that the early seasons of that show were knock it out of the park awesome, but lately, it's just coasting by saying, "We're 30 Rock! Critics love us!" But the show hasn't been Emmy-winning quality this season or the season before tbh.

It could also be said the other way, network shows often have much higher budgets and thus can do more than cable shows.

John Noble, I weep for you. As also Rob Swanson. Plus, while I do think Glee this year was complete wreck, Naya Rivera should've gotten a nom over Jane Lynch.

Stewart has got to be setting a record or something. Not even Frasier won this many Emmys in a row.

Some other nominees must have botched it quite a bit if The Office got another comedy nomination with how weak this season was. It was OK, but there were funnier and better shows that weren't nominated.

Peter Dinklage HAS to win. Tyrion was by and far the best part of Game of Thrones.

Jean Marsh being nominated makes me very happy. I doubt she'll win when there's actresses with more name value for the American market, but still, she deserves the recognition.

If Game of Thrones loses, I want to see Dinklage slap the hell out of everyone.
